Default Mending Touch

Hey,

We have had a year with mend touch not being touched except to nerf its recharge slightly.

Does anyone else think that the existence of this skill giving split chars the ability to remove two conditions isn't necessarily a good thing.

I wouldnt mind seeing the return of ranger vs ranger battles where one of them could actually die.

I think it's so powerful because of the touch-range drawback. Even though the drawback isn't a problem when you use it on yourself.

There have been suggestions that the condition removal should scale with your Protection Prayers rank so it's not so effective at 2 Prot.

Magebane -> all spells until they balance it.

nerf mending touch, and you'll kill rangers as viable skirmish templates. as a result, mending touch will never be nerfed.

You forgot the Cripshot buff, which amounted to a huge nerf to this skill. Giving teams a powerful maintainable condi snare that outpaces Mending Touch was huge, and it's the reason you don't see Mending Touch warriors destroying bases and flaggers anymore.

Other than making offensive splitting even harder and more monk-reliant, I don't see what a Mending Touch nerf would accomplish right now.

Mending touch was the primary reason that eprod runners died off, as blind was no longer effective.

However, I'm not sure that a nerf would bring them back, just because people always split offensively with their runner and dismiss on a monk would accomplish the same thing. OF course, with rit runners a runner with just bflash + other weak heal might be able to defend a base.

The game has long advanced past the point where a Blinding Flash/E-prod guy has a chance in hell of defending a base without healing support. If Mending Touch were removed from the game tomorrow, that character would still be pretty much shit.

B-flash/B-surge guys remain okay as secondary base defenders, if you already have a monk back providing healing for when your Blind is down.
