Default ha bonus weekend.

Any advice you have for a rank 1 with 41 fame to try and break into the pvp scene? I tried to get in groups before and every response was no noob, you need a high rank to spirit spam/ whatever other team build they needed.

I don't have any guild members or friends to pvp with. So I was wondering if their was any advice on what I should do besides go find random groups that will just beat the henchman then die on the first round every time.

Perhaps someone who reads this wouldn't mind letting me join there group some time? If not just advice on any builds I should know of to try and farm up some fame to atleast get rank3.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

The bold part was too funny Not laughing at you, laughing at the fact they would deny you from coming in a "fotm" kind of build

Follow Kyps thread, it should help

Oh and our former HA mod JR set this nice little thread up back in the day:

Just going to say, tried for a couple of hours. Even managed to join 1 team looking for a spike trapper (they didn't ask for any rank in party search). I load up template, they ask what rank I am I get ready to type I have rank 1 but I have vent/ts and before I could even say anything I was kicked.

I don't understand how we need to be r3-6 or whatever to spam traps and spirits. All we do is click 1-6 and then dodge attacks and stuff. (I know their is more to it, but for using skillwise it's not like you need 200 hours of experience to plant spirits and traps)

So it looks like for anyone it's nigh impossible to get started in pvp unless you have a guild to go with (which I don't). Or you buy a rank farming service which I will never do.

So gg to people thinking rank means you know how to click a few traps and spirits.

This thread sounds like it was set up to prove a point, if not then he really does base HA and other people purely on his one experience as a spike trapper xD.

I believe, and I've been told by a good many of my friends: rank doesn't matter for crap among a lot of people. The question is whether you play skilled enough for the group. As an example of this: last night we had a Rank 3 infuser, Rank 10 RC, and Rank 6 HB doing dual derv balanced spike. Our team died so fast each and every match, we almost lost to a Starburst team in UW. Sad thing was the Rank 3 infuser was doing the best job of all three.

I was telling a guildie recently to compile a list of his three best PvP professions (NOT builds, professions). Think about that a good bit, and once you know what they are, only join groups that let you play those professions. Your skill will shine through, you will get put on people's friends lists, and you'll get into groups by reference, not rank.

99% of the HA players I encountered this weekend were complete asshats and reminded me of why I don't HA. GvG has its share of jerks that spam their shit talk but usually that is one in about 8 matches. HA it was like that in almost every match. The best was the "Cheat less win more" bs that a high rank team said. I don't know what that ment as we were running the same kind of build 1/3 of the teams we came against were running how is that cheating? Lots of shit talking people that are real tough behind a computer screen is all HA has to offer. Would be fun for me and my team of 8 to meet them IRL bet they would change their tune in a hurry

You forgot to mention that these guys are also bad at the game, and can only run IWAY. I popped to HA to see what was going on for the first time in about 6 months not too long ago. Only groups forming were IWAY - 1 was r8+. What a joke.

pretty sure a good deal of em are 30+ year old guys with no lives so they grind rank. So they own u in GW.... and most likely would not be afraid of you in real life. (Highly doubt you're some tough ass gang member who plays GW)

back on topic- Bonus Weekend = 80% iway, 20% sway.. the end.
Oh wait, and pvers who actualy tried to get rank, and ended up forming randomways to feed both iway and sway.

I really dont see the OP's problem. On all 3 days of the bonus weekend i clicked on party search to see "r0+ somethign forming" or "bla bla bla something forming, no rank req" Maybe you should stop joining groups that specifically say r8+, r9+ and then explain that you have no rank. And if all else fails, -----> start your own group?<-----
Plus, ppl wrongly think of double fame weekend as a good time to get into HA.. WHY?!?!?
To already established pvpers, this is a once in a while useful occassion, to make some good fame. Why of all times (especialy even during regular fame they dont find time to help out r0+) would they fine time to help new ppl? Of all times, this is the worst time to deal with it.
And the comment about high rank to spirit spam, its not purely that, unranked ppl are more likely to: have wrong stats, not even have runes unlocked or mods needed or put on sup runes (thus getting ppl with 400 health), or have extensive knowledge on how to use their build. If you just think a trapper runs around randomly spammign 1-6, well to some yes, but to some a trapper can act as both an offensive char and a defensive char (depending on how u play it).
Long story short, it may seem that ppl ridiculously demand high rank for gimmick builds that shoudnt take skill... but there are more factors to it then that including personal own player skill lvl which is why some swayers win halls and some stay in uw all day.

I object. I played pretty much all weekend it was not all iway and sway.90%of the teams where fame farming mixed between SF , EoE bomb, and some ppls random teams.and the last 10% where ppl running spikes balanced and iway shit.

Sry.. no, you didnt play much this weekend.. or make much fame. (2.5k made this weekend, didnt play much on Sunday)

I suppose i am mistaken about ppl not tryin to roll spikes. Fine, >10% rolled spikes, SF, r-spike, eoe bomb (retarded bunch of E/A attempting to spike out 7 ppl simultaneusly, then going into pressure and failing)

It may have started as more originaly but unfortunately, iway--->lays down fertile, watch yourself or shields up----> all party members 100 armor+ occasional 50% block--> iway+ mending refrain= +10 health regen (degen failz?) ---> d-chop a few skills, e-deny them.. win. kthnxbai. After that, that 10% drasticaly fell, and it pretty much went back to sway+iway.

Lol I never run HA but I do RA/TA a lot (r4 glad). I went from 0 fame to 130 on Saturday running a modified Heroway. We beat a rank 120 guild

What I was running was this:

Expel/restore rt
Tainted hero
2 RaO with Eoe and Toxicity
2 mindblast or SH eles
2 n/rt with SLW and Preservation

Made it to courtyard a couple times.

I would just run with a few guildies/allies that want fame i ran EoE bomb all sunday and got 100 fame from it and beat some big guild like we did but i would run with non ranks until r3 but now it looks like people are asking r8s all the time .

Just run a gimmick and join Zerg or Sway if your unranked. It's easy fame and once you get ranked no one is going to question how you got it. A bambi is a bambi. HA is all about gimmick builds if your are under R5 anyway.

well as a guild team we ran alot of variations but the easiest way to get fame was iway and we had a catch up since no ones been on much over x-mas so we had a laugh got to halls and we had some fun, the best bit is the fact we had some fun and at the end of the day HA is the quick 8v8 and GvG is the long strategic organised element where you need the right ppl at the right time,

But yea i got a fair amount of fame not a great deal but it ticked over and i ranked ^ ^

True that. Joined a team, not their rank, kick without saying anything or pinging (not realizing I have gained all my fame running that exact build they're looking for. So i went there on Fri night, joined a different group and first match we run into this invinci-echo-shadow-form sin who wasted mine and 7 other ppl's time but just running around not being able to do any damage. This was Friday night. I never went back to HA til sunday night which I did a couple more matches. It's ppl like this who turn me off from HA and remind me why I don't do more of it. It might be better now that the event is over and all a-hole snob ppl and idiots hopefully will be gone.

it's kind of sad because if you're not in a GvG guild, the next best thing is HA which you can pug but then there's idiots. I don't really care for it that much.

Lordhelmos, that is not true. I play R6+ Balanced groups or higher whenever I HA. IWAY? Zergway? SWay? Heroway? Sorry, never won fame with any of them. And a small note: I have 550 fame, not even Rank 5. Not playing gimmicks makes a difference.
