Well, at least they did a very positive thing. I didnt think they had it in them to make such a change.
Cause it may backfire now. You can see how much activitiy there is, and if GW is loosing many gvgers, you will see the ladder rating dropping........

The next thing they need to do is to offer some good pve droppings for playing (winning) gvg to get the pveers (finaly) to transform to pvp. something that will be better than the regular mindless farming they do all day long.
Actually, it would be really nice if when the Guild Lord died in a rated match, he dropped something neat like winning in HoH does.

reward points/zaishen keys aren't enough? I mean, I'm all for more pve crap coming my way, but I don't think its necessary.

Reward points are cool for the small percentage that AT. Zaishen keys you eventually get even if you don't win and they are not unique to GvG. The average GvG player has little to show for wining/improving compared to other parts of GW until their guild gets into the top 145 for some Champ points. Team rewards are good as there is a ladder, personal rewards are weak.

Qft. The intention for a pvx guild to gvg is little to non. If it is pvp, they will just farm an emote or play ab where the reward is higher.

Playing in the AT's will give them reward points and the opportunity to win real world prizes. Not to mention, GvG is meant to be a very guild-oriented format, as the name would suggest. More so than HA where you can easily be a lone player that joins a pug. Sure, you don't get much as an individual, but couldn't you say the same for sports? Generally, the team gets one trophy such as the Stanley Cup. Individual players get nothing except the glory of being part of that team. Well, and they get paid, but thats for you to take up with your guild leader.

In regular rated GvG, I agree, when I play a few matches I personally don't have anything to show for it aside from a few Xaishen keys. But I help my guild improve their rank, which to me, is much more rewarding. That's why when presented the option, I generally vote for GvG rather than HA, even though I could work on my individual Hero title.

It's a team based format with mainly team based rewards. That really makes a lot of sense to me. I imagine the Xaishen Chest will encourage more of the "whats in it for me" crowd to want to join in in GvG. We are open to suggestions, of course, I'm just stating my opinion on the subject.

I agree with most of what you say, the reality is though that the AT's are under subscribed, by that I mean the majority forfeit and never play hence get rewards. If I have the option of playing HA, doing a HM PvE, or a GvG I will always go for the GvG as it has the best strategy and mental stimulation of the three options, despite the lack of personal rewards. I don't see it a as a bad thing appealing to the "whats in it for me" crowd, if it brings more players to GvG. Understand that GvG strategy is hard to master, so they lazy members of the crowd will drift back to farming eventually, but hopefully others will respect the challenge and stay.
