THIS GOT UNDELETED FOR A REASON

I AM NOT ASKING WHERE THESE POSTS ARE. I am merely using them as examples of posts that should be preserved because of the content in them. I am also asking if anyone else can remember threads/posts that should be stickied that I have not mentioned.

I have always thought that certain posts or threads should be kept, and it is a shame that some of these have fell off the top page. The reason for this is that many people who come to this site shouldnt be expected to read a load of crap to get to the gold that lurks here.

In the next few days during christmas I plan on Linking to as many of these things as I can. I have read a great many of these probably all of the good things that have been posted here for at least the last 18 months. There is a chance that I have missed some things however and this is a shout out to the community here to link to anything I have missed or forgotten so that it is easily accesible.

I would also like this to link to the posts that contain the gold and not the retards who try and disagree with the OP's :P

Here is a shortlist of what I remember offhand.

Why Nuking Sucks:ENSIGN I think that this thread and particularly two or three posts made by ensign should be read by anyone serious about the game.

Monking, Skills and decisions in perspective:MAKKERT. Stickied permanently in the monk forum but given that the character class forums are pve swarmed this should be easily found from glads arena too.

What is a balanced build:BLAME THE MONKS. I think this post contains a lovely little explanation about what balanced builds really are and not just builds with a mes/ranger/ele/2 war/2mo and a flagger.

These three are easily found by yours truly.

There is an individual post by ENSIGN about robust and gimmicky skills and how this applies to the ritualist class. I think this is why apart from the remedy runner why the class is so bad. Here it is: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...&postcount=924

Off this site there are some there are some nice things too.

There is a nice post about communication written by TIYURI wasted at Gwonline. I can quickly find this.

The two mini guides by YUE and CHIIZU about the ranger and warrior class respectivly. @ teamquitter. Links easily got currently.

Also the sticky at teamquitter where a few threads are linkied, generally things written by Tommy or Josh again it can be easily Linked.

There is also something that I remember from TEAM-IQ forums which are now dead and gone. While I am sure that there is much there that is forever lost kind of like Lord of the rings, there is one thread that I think was one of the better ones. BEATDOWN VS CONTROL. If anyone has the text saved on their computer or the author is available then this particular thing would be worth bringing back online.

This is only a start, im sure there are more please post :P

Joe

That was pretty eye opening to me when I first read it; it would be great for that to find its way back onto the internets.

Good posts/threads about game balance should be somewhere there imo, kind of as a...category...

Off the top of my head, I can think of http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10181392 and to a lesser extent http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10207696.

And this isn't so epic, but self-promotion to starting PvPers is allowed, right?
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10207696

I realize that is out of date, but if people want I can rewrite it. (I can dream, right?)

pah01 -- I believe the whole thread, which was here, is gone:

http://www.team-iq.net/forums/showthread.php?tid=1767

But I was able to find a copy on the Team Cipher site, I believe:

Someone is welcome to find the actual thread. Also the classic "why nuking sucks" should be here, cba to look if it already is.

I think we should change the thread title to "A collection of posts by Ensign". OT: All the threads from the old iQ forums were so good...

The America vs Europe flamethread on TGH was epic.

As was the thread from Andrew Patrick about Rhaza being easier to get while everyone was waiting for pvp updates.

Also, there's a really nice thread on virtual dragons forum about vZ and rawr final.

There's no real point linking any of these threads as all the interesting parts got deleted.

Unfortunately, I never wrote a monk guide. I could go through and look for some of my old Guru or QQ posts, but that would take a lot of time that I don't have at the moment. Some should still be saved on my computer though, so I'll see what I can dig up.

Thats a very long tommy monking post from QQ with followed by 12 good pages of monking discussion. Its great if you are just starting out, and will almost certainly teach you stuff, even if you are fairly experianced.

Also, here is yue's ranger guide:
