two favourites for gold cape

Stealing Society [StS] (for sticking together even when they lost their frontline... wtf happened there?) one of the oldest euro guilds still competing... I miss PnH!

Dark Alley [dR] - because i love their unique guild identity (legacy of iQ) unique monk bars, they embraced dynamic split strat running balanced instead of blockway meta like everyone else... did i mention i love their monk bars (double divine healing - can anyone else maintain top 5 with that bar? - thought not).

other guilds worthy of mention -

Whats Up [Sup] - dark horses came out of nowhere - depend far too much on their frontline in my opinion.

You Fail [uF] - nice group of euroes who have played together for a very long time, though some of their players are not so heavily experienced in GvG as others in the team... only time will tell.

Supernova Japan [Spnv] - one of the oldest guilds in competition and therefore the most experienced as a team, theyve been running sinsplits alot over the past month or so and quite alot before, so theyll either know how to beat it or they will run it better than the others will lol.

Best Before [apr] - another group of highly experienced euroes, who have been splitting ALOT with various builds over the past month or so, with a long history of experience in dynamic play.

note: The lack of american guilds on my list is due to the fact i play euro times... and to be honest the only other american guild id like to add is Delta Formation [DF] but since theyre not competing theres no point in mentioning them.

the rest of the guilds out there just dont grab my attention...

i wonder how sinsplit/paraspike infested this monthly will be...

This makes me really sad, could've turned the thread epic. I guess ill have to state again that TGH was 1million times better than gwg.

Could've turned this thread so epic I have to send you another PM to tell you to stop the America vs Europe and random player trashing before getting a ban? Trashtalking can be awesome, but guru is more noob-friendly; go take trashtalking to QQ. So stop now. ^_^

I'll put dR at 2nd or 3rd for the hell of it.

Put [apr] somewhere, doesn't really matter, throw the japanese somewhere on the board, and [cE] somewhere too.

Am I missing anything?

So there I was, about to put in my predictions for this month. First thing I noticed is that the list with options was incredible short this month. I counted the amount of guilds with enough QP to qualify and I came to 66 guilds. So 66 guilds with 20 or more QPs. Which is the amount of points needed according to the rules. Of those 66 guilds, only 38 show up as available predictions. So they are missing 42%. Not a huge problem since most top guilds are there, but still.
Also the "Event Closes: February 25 00:00 GMT" is confusing with the rest of the text saying you can change your predictions until the event closes. On the full rules page it does say it correctly tho.
Another thing that has been irritating me for some time is that if I put in a guild on a spot, but change my mind later, it is impossible to remove the guild again. Might be Firefox causing problems, might be me missing something, but still. It is also hard in Firefox to put someone in the 7-8 spot, since scrolling or anything doesn't work well.

Anyway, my predictions.
1. SpNv is in my opinion the best sinsplit guild out there. As shown yesterday when they beat both HanD and Me without too much problems. Last time I saw them facing apr, SpNv won too.
2. apr comes in second for being the best European sinsplit
3. dR, because Lax wasn't available,
4. StS, because Soap was missing.
5. cE, strong guild able to run sins and balanced.
6. HanD, for running sinsplit better then most.
7. Me. not very impressive this month, but will probably get far anyway.
8. Sup, because I think they can.

If that's the match I was in then you need to take into account that [apr] wasn't running sinsplit (as it was just Ladder) and SpNv was. [apr]'s build was mostly fun/testing, infact I think uhvl was even on OoB Boon Prot in that game.

Uh, they are neither "one of the oldest euro guilds still competing" nor did they "lose their frontline"... They first turned up and played like in June, July and August tourney with Moonie and Firefox as Frontline but disbanded after that and ppl from that guild went everywhere, but now, not so long ago liekkio decided to remake the guild because her own guild [roar] died aswell and Henchie and Godguard from [frag] joined aswell plus other ppl.

Bottom Line:

Only 3 people (Liekkio, Flaming and Shadow) from the old StS are in the new StS.
I also miss PnH. It's true that StS has 3 of their members and I love them for that reason. But PnH still lives and they'll do the occasional HA run btw.

WM had a way of running certain builds against certain opponents. As an observer, you never really knew what they would run.

I'll never forget that match they ran Protective Bond on a sin and on a mesmer on Burning Isle hehe.
