Unhappy And the winner is........Luxons, again!

Okay I was really looking forward to this weekend event with the Double Allince Faction in Alliance Battles. So im on and ready for the it to start, with hopes and joys of collecting massive amounts of faction. I figured that there would be alot of the "better and experienced" players taking advantage of this too. But about an hour in and too many lsoses to count later, i purely just gave up.

reason being is because about the 5th battle or so in, after winning only 1 round, i looked at my mini map and realized, "Wow. My team is the only one capping." I say this becasue i watched the map every battle after that, and it was tru. I'm not jsut saying that because we kept losing,; Im saying that as a fact. The only shrines that seemed to be capped were the ones my team hit from the start, than after a bit into it, the only ones capped were the one behind our flight pattern and the one we were standing on. t seemed to be this way all night with a few occasional wins for kurzicks.

Is it just me or having the Kurzicks gone to the birds. And, what makes it worse is that it was a KURZICK map. QQ where were good guys when they were needed.

unfortunately, double faction weekends never bring out the best in anyone. it brings out the worst. you're just unlucky to be stuck with the worst of the worst.

your group of 4 being perfectly coordinated and doing what you're supposed to be doing won't counter the other 2 groups being completely stupid (quite sad unfortunately).

At least you knew about the double faction weekend. I took a week off from GW to catch up on studying. Go figure the one weekend I don't logon is the one weekend where the bonus affects me the most directly.

It's just you. You just happened to log in at the wrong time. Friday and late Sunday afternoon, the Luxons dominated. Most of Saturday and Sunday morning, it was win after win for the Kurz. Sunday morning especially turned into luxon farming at Kaanai.

Sunday afternoon was a nightmare of us Kurz though. As a poster above mentioned, it did not matter how organized and coordinated a team of four we could field, the other two teams would usually just walk up to the mob and donate their corpses for the Luxon MMs to exploit.

The players in AB on double-faction weekends are like an avalanche tumbling down a giant mountain of fail.

I don't remember what happened on what day, but what you said basically matches what I recall happening. Early in the event I remember dominating the Luxons badly over and over again, on our maps, on theirs, it didn't matter. I was starting to almost feel bad, but free faction ftw. Toward the end of the event, nothing. Seemed to me we Kurzicks were having enough trouble just navigating around obstacles, let alone capping and winning matches.

Sounds like most AB players all the time to me, double faction or not.

If they are in your team. No then your out of luck.. You should get unlucky points for it.

Against you. Easy, tank them out and go on.

Also if you setting up for AB try to spike join, but in a weekend like last one that is nearly impossible. I tried it with 6 teams on luxon side and only saw 3 teams in 25 try's.
Joining a luxon AB guild might be nice. But for some reason they dont group up inside their guild. They play with friendslist. Just get some friends in AB and enjoy your time with them.

True but fortunately you have the same odds that your opponents are as uncoordinated than your PuGS allies.

Thats because this is what goes on when you are in a Kurzick team.

Luxons generally know that capping is what is important, but Kurzicks ALWAYS seem to mob. Mobbing = lose

That is just not true of either side. Both sides mob about as much, both sides whine about it as much, and both are blind to the mobbing going on within their own team.

Additionally, mobbing is not always bad. When you have a shrine advantage (and Moriz did an excellent job of articulating this point), it actually works quite well, especially if the mob keeps a couple of people to watch over the side teleports (or traps them as we often do).

In essence, the OP just had bad luck. This past Wednesday, I could not win a match to save my life, yet yesterday it was the opposite. . .that's the nature of the beast.

Heh, i remember we were at 'The ancesteral lands' for ages, kurzicks seemed to be clueless, it was sweet getting 5k a win as a luxon though

Yes, yes it was Steboy, I can still remember getting 10k in two games, and beating those Kurzicks like they stole something. Ahh, how I miss double faction weekend (and ancestral) get back to it luxons!

I'd say the two sides are generally matched in terms of crappiness, as a Luxon, there are lots of times when I've seen 4 or 5 of my "teammates" run of to fight the entire Kurzick mob, and plenty of times when I've had to pick up the slack for my mobbing teammates.
