You can't prot this spike. The amount of enchant removal is just too much. Positioning doesn't mean anything against this spike either because they can teleport. If you see it coming, prekite and otherwise do everything you should, you still die when they shadow step. It's way too imba.

Its not just the fact that the spike does a lot of damage, say you manage to infuse it then what? I doubt your going to manage breaking through a motigon and b-surge as the midline defense while being able to deal with the pressure and spike. The whole thing in general is ridiculous and somehow needs a nerf.

My guilds been running dervspike since before pious got changed and AoB dervs became popular. I can honestly say that after the change our spike has gotten kills much more often and become more effective. Does it do more damage than our old AoM dervspike with wearying, not really. Does it make preprotting almost worthless yes, and thats why its so annoying.

If you want to stop dervspike bsurge works best at first, however mes can often sig hum him or divert bsurge. What has been most effective against us actually was those MB E/* that happen to use blinding flash. As its non elite sig cant catch it, and its much harder to divert bc it isnt spammed.

Ive monked against a few new dervspikes as well, and most of them were easily rolled by us however one of them was probably the best spike team i have ever infused against. Im not sure how it was even possible but they were clean spiking ppl in what had to be under .5 seconds. Preprots wernt doing anything. I don't mind spikes but i prefer facing teams that are protable, or at least run a ton of squishies like necro spikes and ele spikes heh.

Should pious or grenths get a nerf, yeah ill say sure. Should it get nerfed into the ground? No because in reality it isn't that overpowered, the enchant rip is the only problem imo. Make its recharge longer, or make it so it cant be taken off by pious and problem solved.

Can't wait to see what they actually touch this update, both derv and sin wise. Judging from past balances it's either nerfs into the ground, tweaks to non problem skills within the builds as a whole or down right(deleting skills from seeing play) while buffing other shit skills forcing an inevitable meta based on the crap that gets buffed...

Make it so Pious Assault makes you lose a stance instead of an enchantment. Kill the the whole Grenth+Pious combo along with the R/D crap at the same time.

Pious Assault seems like it should really be fine without the fast activation. The energy cost seems like enough of a way to prevent abuse by itself, the problem is primarily Grenth's Aura working far too conveniently with it and Attacker's Insight making the cost of it and Chilling Victory moot with no real attribute investment.

I'd just like to point out that it does do more damamge that the previous AoM spikes with wearying. Due to pious assaults odd cast time it allows chilling + pious + eremites which does more damage than the previous wearying + eremites. The whole combo being powered by attackers insight.

That would probably help stopping Grenth's Aura (although there'd still be Pious Fury you could use), but it wouldn't fit in the line of "Pious" skills (ie Pious Haste, Pious Fury, etc.), which all make you lose an enchantment.

Like others have already said, I think with the fast activation removed, Pious Assault would be fine. Dervspike wouldn't though, that would require Attacker's Insight and Grenth's Aura to be hit, too.. Increasing the recharge on Grenth's Aura to 20 and making Attacker's Insight require more of an attribute investment for the 2 attacks and 10+ energy reduction could help. Grenth's Aura would probably need something more to it than just the increased recharge, though, since it wouldn't really change the functionality in any way.

To really get rid of Grenth's Aura, it could just be changed to remove enchants upon activation rather than when it wears off like other people have mentioned. Or just have a super long recharge.

I also agree with the higher attribute investment for Attacker's Insight. Have the 2 attack cutoff a lot higher, so minimal spec will only be one attack.
