yup you're right just tried them, thats makes them very stupid as not only are they beaten by mantra they do not work in the same fashion as ALL other mesmer interupts. anet didnt put a lot of effort in when it came to them.. every other mesmer interupt in the game would function as i had guessed.

Still waiting to see an update that adds the phrase:

Everytime this echo is reapplied it checks the current attributes of the paragon that cast this.

That way things like atrophy or wail of doom can really screw over a lazy paragon, and maybe give an answer to the no way to strip refrains.

Spiteful Spirit would be nicer with a 1 sec cast, and Life Transfer with a 20sec recharge.

Oh an Spirit Rift is a joke in PvP and PvE, gotta get that cast -> strike time down from 5 sec.n the target is usually moved or dead by then.

We just got Channeling nerfed down a bit; it definitely does not need more AOE power now.

Didn't ask for more power, just get rid of the 5sec delay as Spirit Rift only a moderate damage AoE not some Meteor Shower style nuke!

They need to remove it's emote...

It's the only skill that actually gets hindered my it's emote... People see a big ball of light popping up, offc. they run out of it

In PvE it's actually alright, splinter just outplays it because it is armor ignoring... (And can be used with bows etc)

I've used it a bit in PvE but the other party members have usually killed the target before it goes off, even Glyph Sac. doesn't help much. They have to figure out if Spirt Rift is going to have a long cast or a long delay after the cast, having both is broken, 2sec cast play 3 sec delay after cast before damage occurs is unworkable. I would reduce the cast to under a sec and leave the 3sec animation crap. That way you can't interrupt it but you can sure still get out of it's way.

The ab necro inside of me would scream in glee. But, seriously, life transfer is horrible, ss is only slightly better if thats possible.

life transfer at 10 recharge would make it useful, it will never ever happen, but it is the few ways to buff blood magic without swinging the meta into spiking blood necros. Spiteful Spirits is fine, curses as a whole just doesn't support that elite anymore. The best curse elite is probably wither cause it synergies well with whats still worth running in curses.

Right now, Spirit Rift is a crappy Ancestors' Rage.

I'd like to see something going on while I'm waiting forever.

Perhaps a snare or a SH-esque effect.

Spirit Rift serves its purpose, it's a delayed AoE damage spell, which hits for 100+. I don't see any problem there.
It's tricky to have working but it's fine

SS is ok in AB/RA/PvE not so good in GvG as there is too much healing available due to popularity of Splinter, which has higher AoE damage than SS, faster cast, less energy cost, and doesn't blow your elite slot! However I still find SS and Insidious Parasite a good combo in RA/TA, but there is a general over supply of interrupt Mesmers and Rangers in 4v4 at the moment so SS 2sec. cast gets interrupted a lot more than Insidious or Reapers. SS is still good in AB on most shrines especially if you have someone with Ancestors in the party to complement it.

I only tend to use Life Transfer in RA because it doubles as a nice self heal when there is often no useful Monk. The bread and butter damage still comes from other Blood Skills, in TA I swap it out and often use Reapers with the Blood Spike for energy and pressure combo. Life Transfer's high but short degen creates useful pressure, but the 12/30sec. duration makes it crappy for an elite, Reapers blows it away for sustainable degen per min. 15sec. recharge would do fine to broaden it's appeal, 10sec would probably be approaching overpowered when you do the energy/degen equation, also you don't really want it to recharge faster than the hex removal tools which seem to be 12sec mostly, I seem to recall that's why they increased the recharge on Reapers to 15sec. I can't see Life Transfer if it's recharge was reduce a lot, ending up across the board in a Blood Spike 8v8 build, they tend to need other functions from their elites, but you never know.

Ye, I had that happen to me in NF HM... You know how Henchies ALL ball up when they follow you? Well, I found out that a 600 Dmg Spirit Rift > H/H...
