Rather than register further frustration in this thread...I've got to ask: Is this the official position of the developers or are you stating your personal opinion that wins and losses on erroneous maps should be honored?
Don't be stupid, I think only very few people would've wanted a rematch of the first game. Remember that Warriors and Solitude are very similar maps, and both guilds had the same disadvantage.

Shit just happens, not updating the map rotation was a suprise but understandable. It's just the fact that suddenly updating it back without notifying anyone is a direct insult to the pvp community. Now i'm not going to quit guild wars over this, and i think very few will, but the fact remains that it's RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing ridiculous and that it's not the first time Anet fails to communicate with their players.

You've honestly got a lot of nerve.

I really doubt I'll ever bother to GvG again. Weren't the rewards doubled this month? So in a pretty big month, after a pretty commendable skill update you guys COMPLETELY blow all faith the players had in the dev team (which honestly, wasn't much). And to top it off you have the audacity to mock somebodies disgust of you failing at your job (or do you only handle the serious buisness, like pve?).

With HA in shambles, arenas a joke, and GvG getting absolutely no support I really don't see a reason to keep playing this game.

I thought JR was right when he said that you guys were probably just as bummed out about this as we all were, but as you continue to run your mouth it's pretty evident that's not the case.

What a shame.

Through all this you would almost forget there was a final going. Congrats to rawr for that.

For the rest, I think everything has been said about this topic. Anet made mistake, Anet screwed up the fix, players got angry.

I agree compleetly with Shiz.

Especially the post of Gaile doesnt make me feel like a customer from Anet, but more like a person you can meet in a local pup where you fool around with.

Feeding information to the players in this case is a key element.
Even if its bad info, it might be hard to tell, hell were all ashamed if we make mistakes.
Be open and honest.

I've always noted that this forum family, and this particular forum, are pretty outspoken and direct. I tried to make a small joke with a couple of forum members but even though my intentions were friendly, I realize that some members felt that the nudge was poor judgment on my part so I apologized. Please let's not exaggerate a joke into something more; I already feel bad enough for misjudging my rights of participation. :-/

Both Andrew and I have been working for about 6 hours on this situation. We are bummed about this whole situation, as are the others at ArenaNet working on the solutions. We're doing absolutely all that we can do -- our small part of the picture -- to keep players up to date on what's going on, to express our regret for the situation, and to gather player ideas for how to avoid similar situations or handle them, if they arise.

I don't know if it's productive to say, again, how much we regret the situation, but trust me, all of us do! And believe me, neither of the team members on this thread are discounting any suggestions -- even the somewhat radical ones that mention rerunning the entire tournament. We can't make the decision, after all. So of course all suggestions will be reviewed by those who can ultimately decide on these sorts of issues. My comments about victory and loss and concerns about how to fairly redo were merely points in a discussion, not an official position. Thank you for asking for me to clarify that.

P.S. No, rewards were not doubled this month. That happens in April.

So far it's happened almost every monthly that a guild autoforfeits cause of a drop right before enter mission. I know quite a lot of people that decided to never play gw again from that instant on. If you could message or e-mail a dev that could put you back into the tournament it would all be fine.

I can think of countless other situations where direct dev support is necessary in the middle of the tournament, but so far nothing has happened. I've never heard of anyone being helped during the tournament, and i DO know a lot of people.
Nop Mike Gills got fired remember.

To be fair, I just think it'd be a good learning experience on what to do and what not to do in the future. Having a dev on call would be good. Checking to see if things are working properly would be good. Adding minor update notes would be good.

It's a problem no one wants to see, and people are just venting their frustration. Just make sure this doesn't happen again, and some players may still return for more.

Andrew Patrick and Zealots of Shiverpeak [ZoS] are signed up for the Tiger Division in the RawrCup.

And until it got withdrawn, I was signed up with RIP for the titan division of the rawr cup too.

He might've changed back to ZoS, but at least a while ago, he was seen in rawr, probably helping out with the rawr cup.

This is the first time that I know of, in about three years of competitive events, where such a situation has arisen. I hope that your overall view of the game, and of our support of PvP, wouldn't be impacted by a single episode. But of course that is for you to decide, as far as playing Guild Wars, as far as buying Guild Wars 2.
you
are
so
funny

as if the game wasn't alrdy enough DEAD with dumb builds or whatever ??? are you kidding
tbh i was playing Monk and i didn't have to change build much so i'm not that concerned about it
but guilds such as dR counting on their build to win games, or any other guild (at least bothering swapping from sin spike to something else)
you kinda killed what was left of the only interesting day of the month,

i shud keep going, flame you and Anet, but Guru is full of carebears and the post wud prob get deleted
AND BAN ME (NOOOO THIS CANT HAPPEN OMG!!)

however ur incompetence into the most important event(s) [i believe theres no such thing in pve or HA that concerns everyone and RL MONEY but we know ure into pve, so w/e]
is.... humm.. really disapointing

Oh for crying out loud, stop whining. They said they're sorry and that they regret that they didn't announce the map change, what else do you want from them? Go back in time and make the announcement? The monthly is over and it went like it went, so drop it already.

Does GW have a /global or /announce chat? Cause it should.

P.S. Don't mind Jenny, she's silly.
