I looked on the official wiki notes about noticed skill updates. SWAY seems pretty much unaffected (just a little tickle to the ritualist ancestors/splinter/flesh/dps). The updates aren't on the main updates page yet, either they are slow or the update wasn't meant to go into effect yet.

umh, saying that facing sway all the time is boring, does not mean I want to face that all the time. How did you made that conclusion?

I want to face differtent builds, although I rather face "legoway" all the time then sway, even if that gets boring.

The difference between facing balance and facing sway is in the fight itself. When you face sway, there can be only 1 tactic they use against you, and that is hope traps and spirits offer enough pressure that 3 R/Ds can score kills.

Balanced builds arent so inflexible, in fact, against a lot of fights where its two high ranked balanced teams vs each other, winning the match often comes down to making strange calls, things that can change the roll of say, your water ele mid battle. Or instructing your mesmer to get on this target, then to switch real fast to this one on a certain call. Thigns like having your snare rit use grasping earth to pop the hexbreaker on a monk so your mesmer can land a shame.

Those kind of fights are the fun fights.

those matches existed 2 years ago when people played HA for HA not for fame. now it's just a race to see which PD mesmer interrupts flesh of my flesh first. basically matches look like this,

Just for your info, your "elitism" and "rankism" was already known over 2 years ago. That one single word "elitism" is only used by scrubs who don't understand that people will have to have some barricades to block scrubs from better teams. Like you do in guilds (and in pve, you know, r10 ursanway etc ;;;;o)

Also, word "elitism" is used by people who can't face that they are too bad to play with good people. Ofcourse, rank might mean nothing, but it is the only way to show that you have played Ascent.

First of all: i know rank doesnt mean much but for my post its easier to assume it means all.

Ok rank 9+ teams should winn from Sway easily, but its just unfare a rank 6+ balanced loses from a rank 3+, mayb even unranked Sway. This is because Sway is so more easy to play and to winn with it. And its also annoying those rank 3's who get rank 6 fast they want to play balanced (let's assume rank means shit again) they cant play anything decent coz they have been playing Sway all the time so their PvP skills suc. And we all hate pugs who have same rank as you but they just suc in HA.

Do u know what the purpose of the game is?

FUN! 95% of the people playing HA forgot that a long time ago, so they start playing gimmicks to get fame.

The point of this thread isnt to argue about sway being easy to counter, sway being free fame. (we all know it is already). But some people don't actually play for a wacky, stupid emote, we play a game. Games shouldn't be a burden, but most likely a palce to have fun (first reason why I quitted WoW = grinding = not fun= me dont want to pay for no fun = me quitting=me facing sway over and over=me tired of gw=me goes buy another game (that's basically why most veterans quitted, they are bored of a game(wich is understandable, three years of the same thing is kinda boring, indeed))

I'm working on guide how to beat sway.... I hope to have it up by tomorrow on the Strategy Guide to Heroes Ascent thread. I a lot of people ask me why I made this thread. It is because the current stickied thread "How to Play HA" isn't about how to play HA at all, its more about the prerequisites of HA.

I managed, with my team, to stay alive for over 10 minutes with only a 2 monk backline, and No retardgons... (DA was balanced I hurd)
IF you have 2 people dedicated to wanding, and I mean HARDCORE wanding, not a monk for example (Who will have to heal), but a fire ele or something. (Something that can brainlessly spam)
In the current meta, there is enough lol-bars that can be run at full efficiency with half a brain... cel...
E.G.: Fire Ele, Any kind of non-snare ele, rit spammer, any retardgon bar, curses necro, ...

That means you should have 4 people left (2 monking, 2 wanding/spearing). 1 frontline and 1 mesmer who can't occupy themselves with damage shutdown.

That leaves U with 2 players who can fully focus on making it as hard as possible for the 3 r/d's. (Some of my guildies actually activly bodyblock the R/D's, somethimes for over half a minute... Bodyblock > C-space)


Don't QQ about a build that's "overrun", QQ about a build that's overpowered. (Look at my QQ threadzz plz)

Casters that you use for damage are crap at wanding, they can do one or the other good, not both. If you ask them to do both dont expect them to get every trap, especially when they use block stances.

Snares arent needed for R/Ds, just something to protect the monks channeling is all you need.

The pressure from the build, comes from
monks reliance on channeling and the ease R/Ds can time the removal
BIG damage from R/D
Traps
Spirits

The problem killing the build
5 guys with block stances
2x weapon of warding
5 guys with harm armor against elemental

Killing it just takes time, although extreme degen will destroy them pretty quick, but those things usually fail against balanced. Olias as tainted > sways

Just attack thier sources of pressure your build has trouble dealing with, N/Rts have crap emanage if you keep all the spirits down as soon as they come up. The targets will die soon enough, and its like dominoes after because N/Rts are already under pressure.
