It's always been my perception that the best TA groups are either guildmates or high-ranking friends. As such, you probably won't do anything great in TA unless you have buddies in your guild willing to help you out.

Back in RA, I'd say the best way to start is to use a build that's most comfortable to you, yet is still effective enough to hold its own in a 1v1 fight, as some matches may come down to that. After you play a few builds from a few different professions, you might find something that's really working for you in RA (I hear Monk Bonders are pretty good at winning).

Once you get enough points up, some other players in TA might be willing to take you into their group.

To answer your question, RA will have unorganized, possibly low-skilled players on both sides, making it difficult to gauge whether you can make points there or not. TA is more organized, putting better skilled players against each other. I'd say TA is the best place to get points, but RA isn't too bad if you believe you and your build are better than the average player.

be active, dont suck, rest comes with time. But u really need to be motivated a lot, else its pointless.

dont play cookie cutters or gimmicks at the start, first learn the basics of good playing then u can fool around with mindless spam here and there.

also, TA>>>>>>>>>RA.

If u wanna learn how to play, RA is the wrong place to go to.

Well if Your gonna Ra i would advise playing Ranger or Monk. Ra is not the best way to gain but if you happen to stumble on a good team and you make it to Ta and you lose which you will eventually, you can add some oof them and form a team later.
If Your Gonna start of Out you "Will" be tempted to play one of the many gimmic ways being spamed on the American and european districts. I don't advise going to international at first because it full on Friend List groups who are use to TA and are not often looking for a Pug. You will have to join this so called
"FriendList-click" find some 1 who Ta's and they will introduce you to other Tas who will them pm you to Ta and thus playing with new and new people creating a friend list chain." If That doesnt work if your are an extraaaaaaaaordinary player you can Pm me for futher playing appointments.

"Appointments" lmao

I suggest ID RA just to get a feel for things. Most people there are r2+ range.

Uhm, go Korean RA instead. If you're lucky enough, we can get into a decent sync team and get some feeling of TA

Edit: can i get some appointments too plz?

Synching is just lame. Like smite/imbaway. It should not be encouraged.

This may be something for you:

Well, I know I'm going to get flamed but... If you're interested in Glad Pts and that's it, then I'd advise monking in RA, but only if you're semi decent in RA. From personal experience, I have always gotten at least 10 consec whenever I monk in RA, I don't know if the opposing teams just sucked or if those were just awesome days, but I was raking in the glad pts... If you're not only interested in Glad Pts by even a little amount, then go TA and TA with a couple of guildmates. It's considerably harder than RA, but it's also considerably more fun .

Eh, TA if you can get a decent group, RA otherwise if TA is empty.

But nowadays, I see a lot of idiots walking around TA. Today I saw a healing breeze, restore life, ressurect signet, orison of healing, NOT NAMING MORE monk and an air ele with meteor shower and charm.

Just leave idiot groups. Ignore them if they PM you, and do not teach them at all costs. I had to learn it the hard way.

Agree with this.

If you want your glad title and don't care how you get it you should join some of those American TA guilds that run spike/shitway (not naming any). Otherwise, you should try find people in ID RA who are good, play well with them, add them, and ask to TA.

I sometimes try to help out people that are obviously new to the game. Usually ends up with me being called a noob etc.

I'm gonna keep on trying though!

If u wanna get better at TA dont play RA.
If u wanna get better at HA dont play RA.
If u wanna get better at GvG dont play RA.

Just ignore RA completely.

Read a few arcticles about positioning, weap sets, runes and so on. Check meta builds. Try to think of every skill in ur bar when and why to use it.

The bad thing is almost noone is running balanced setups atm so u can either join retarded gimmickers (search for grps with Me/N or 2 monks, 2 sins in it) to get ur initial ranks effectively and quickly or u can form ur own balanced grps (get rdy for 1000 cons losses though).

I admit its rly hard for an unranked playa to find a good grp to join. But thats gw.

As a g4 I have to say I started off playing in RA until I got to g1. It ain't too hard, I played the build as ta/balanced monk, cripslash, 2 easiest builds to play! Then as you progress I suggest you try TA for then ppl let you into their group because you have a title. It seems you should try balance with Me/n - blind, R/mo - magebane, A/d - Critscythe, Mo/w - ta/balance monk.
Thats how I basically got to g4. PM me if you need more help...NEWBIE! j/k

RA isn't that bad for a new player that basically needs to learn everything you don't learn in PvE. Yes, the groups are generally fail and the place is chalk full of hilariously bad gimmicks but it still teaches you the arena maps, how to read the field, standard builds and just how to play in general. It's also instant action so you don't have to sit around for 30 minutes in TA (even longer in HA) waiting for bads that will probably rage quit on first loss.
