Your own skill as a warrior in RA is fairly insignificant compared to how you get farmed easily by the omnipresent melee-hating builds (SoM, FF, EDA, PoF/RH etc etc).

There are simply too many total noob players who play Wammo, R/D, A/X or D/X; an ideal population to farm off.

Jeez, it's taking some time to figure out what those spell abbreviations are ...

Attack what will take damage, squishies are a priority but move on when they get protted. You don't always have to kill the monk first, but it can be easier to do so if you're running shock in a 4v4 format, since you can keep him out of the game for a whole 6 seconds. If your monk is getting owned throw a bull's towards the enemy frontline.

If there's a Bsurge/SoM etc owning you then shock/bull's him when you're clean and dchop as he gets back up.

Not that anyone cares about my noob escapades but tonight I got in an RA team and we had 13 consecutive wins and I finally managed to unlock TA and we even managed to win 1 (or 2?!) in there.

I think I played pretty well after absorbing the advice offered in here but the good M/W helped a bit too

Yeah, I know shield bash is fantastic for breaking sin and hammer combos, two of the most dangerous situations for a lone monk in 4v4. My comment on the WoH Mo/W with shield bash and d-stance was more about how f*cked up the game is thanks to these two skills:

[shattering assault] [rending touch]

I just think it's kinda sad that monks have to bring two stances for themselves so they don't get insta-gayed.

Monkstomp almost NEVER works... If the monk is good, they can hold their own vrs 1-2 melees... You should pressure whoever is most detrimental to your build... i.e. a Me/N SoM a**hole... though they will most likely blind you (dchop ftw!!!) necros are good targets as well

Also, switch targets if a prot gets thrown on your target (basically the whole Prot Prayers line, learn the animations)

Monkstomp does work sometimes.
Like others have said, attk unproted target. Overall, warrior's job is to kill. If you feel you can kill by stomping the monk, do it. If you feel you can kill by linebacking, do it. Guides are just for generalization; you can only learn by experiences.

But it's RA, RANDOM Arena. Even in TA the rock-scissors-paper factor is rampaging, don't expect to much.

Ps: And you can dchop Fast Cast SoM pr0

In RA, barring the really good monks, most average monks are skewed towards either being good at self defense/healing and failing at healing others or being good at healing others but failing at self defense. As such, the best possible action is to always target switch. Don't train on one guy for too long if you are not able to kill him or if he is protted. Fast target switching with spikes catches most average monks off their feet and they can't really react to that.

Constantly hitting on a monk with lots of self defense/heals only allows that bad monk to seem good. Do a fast target switch and spike and watch as his teammates die as he actually sucks at healing others. Likewise if a monk seems to be good at healing others, pressure him to see if he is good at healing himself. In short, always target switch as a warrior to keep opponent monks on their toes.

Though I would say if anyone Dchops fast cast SoM, they probably got lucky because Dchop is just way too slow of an interrupt to nail SoM.

It depends on what you want.
If you want as many wins in a short amount of time, always go after the monk.
If you want glad points and to get to 10 wins then you have to prioritze your targets. Most of the time it is the mesmer that will kill your team, so take down the mesmer first. When you're faced with high protected group (something like 2 monks), I find that going after the damage dealers of the other group, thus helping your monk will get you the win. You reduce thier monks energy until you make your move to actually kill something. Most of the time it will be the blinder ele or the curse necro that will cause you the trouble. Dont go after the curse necro. Let him put his insidious on you and attack someone else, you will not be able to take down a decent necro, let your casters/rangers do that.

Meh, it is not that hard, especially considering how terribad at the game most Me/N are. It is no different than dchopping RoF or Guardian on your average RA monk. Just get them on the ground and time your dchop right.

You have to force your luck. If you just leave it down to actual luck, you probably aren't a warrior that make things happen.

If you ignore everything else in the thread, but read this, you will be doing well for yourself.
