Yes, it is pretty retarded to be honest to make the Isle of the Nameless a PvE area.
I mean come on ... In PvE you can just step outside any town to test most of your skills in action and there is no big drawback in just zoning out again and tweaking a bit, then re-enter.

Isle of the Nameless was just that for PvP purposes. Now I have to start a scrimmage if I wanna test something?

And really why do you need a master of damage for Ursan?

The update was a good idea I think, though needs some changes, like when to show pve and pvp.

Both PvE and PvP players use GToB frequently, if they don't add a toggle they need to add a mock GToB in another area for whichever group isn't represented in the original.

Stop posting dumb stuff. NAZI

The update is bad. They didn't even make the good PvE skill changes I wanted. Or fix anything that is of any significance (VoD, conjure+SoH).

From my experience, dervsmite is good because the shutdown is not up to par really. Im just mad ele's in gvg are reduced to water hexes, which are pretty meh to begin with.

I could see this comming from when they first announced the split.

Many PvE'ers setup builds/hang out in GH, thats why NPCs where added.

Both pve and pvp players use isle of the nameless to test skill updates, builds etc.

Two area's that are incompatible with this system, the GH could have an option toggle to display skills in your preferance on a pve character but isle of nameless cant because of the issues it could cause with teaming up.
Only way a toggle would work there would be like the NM/HM in party menu, which would be a clunky method.

Also, to the posters saying that pve players should test in pve zones;
The only place remotely close to isle of nameless is Churrhir Fields. Which is locked to one campaign, has no master of damage or any other masters and does not have max AL targets.

Agreed. As if the update isn't stupid enough as it is. Why the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO would there even be need for a place to test pve bars on armor dummies? Last time I checked 99.9% of the game was henchable (NM or HM) with pretty much any random build.

If they can't figure out what to do with Nameless and Guild Halls then just put a checkbox in the skill dialog that changes the description format.

Yes i did, you revealed how ignorant you are.

pve players have always used the isle for testing builds as well. It is the only place in the game with a master of damage, 60, 80, 100al dummies and other controlled factors.

If pve players can just enter a pve zone to test builds then pvp players can clearly just scrimmage to test theirs, oh look that doesnt work either.

This update will remove a feature from one side of the game anyway you look at it unless they add a second area like isle of the nameless.

Then what happens if you have it set to pvp and team up with someone who has it set to pvp and enter isle of the nameless?

As i stated earlier you would have to have a pvp/pve switch like the HM/NM one built into your party window. A poor patch to a bad update.

I just think it is hilarious that Anet implemented this change to prevent conflict between the 2 sides, yet they simply created even more conflict by stupid crap like this.

tell me, in all honesty why you would need to measure how much damage you can do per second, how much damage you do at a single point and after which point death will occur for testing pve stuff.

just tell me why. when PvE monsters have extremely superior amounts of health and armor than PvP test dummy targets, i don't know how in any way isle of the nameless will help your new AI exploiting farming build

They need to make another location near GToB- Isle of the Dummies with pve skills.

No one NEEDS the Isle of the Nameless, PvP or PvE. It is very helpful to PvE players, because whether it's important or not, players do like to maximize their builds and the damage they can unload. It's very helpful to measure spike damage in PvP, among many other things, but it's not absolutely essential. It's useful for both catagories of players, if only for the sake of curiosity. (I wonder how much this build really does compared to X)
