It's about the observe HA guilds idea right? not about the list he posted? Because almost everyone is talking about the list, you should talk about the idea first. If you don't like the idea then just say it (+ reason) and get to next thread.

lol @ holy:

dR, rawr and sup worth watching?

Last time I checked, dR and rawr hold with the exact GvG build at dead hours...

sup = rspike or legoway...

Face it, HA simply isn't worth obs'ing... The only time when I obs HoH is when there is a cool "new" build to observe... (E.G. ritspikes, new balanced's, etc etc)
If you really think you can learn something from obs'ing HA, well... (Point proven...)

The ONLY people that should be Obs'ing HA to learn something are the "new" people to learn the maps, and that's it. But, Ow wait, you don't get to see the "objectives" list in observer anyways, so fcuk that sheit aswell...

Remove HA observe all together, imo... Only the last 3 HoH matches should be shown... More observe = more /copy and more/faster spread of gimmicks...

Don't DoM only run hexway? I fail to see how pooping interrupts on a target with Migraine and Frustration on him teaches U anything. Or Maybe spamming SS/insidious requires skill nowadays?
Or how about the cripslash? C-spacing 1-2-3-4 requires even more skill nowadays?...

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure DoM runs nothing but hexway...

vE, cuz we need to teach people how to run Legoway? Or how to abuse 3 Fire eles in 1 build? Or maybe we need to teach people HOW exactly chest thumper + Sundering weapon can get abused in about any spike build?

Lol, yes, vE gets to HoH often (Lately it has been less tough), but all they really do is /copy builds from other people, and then put in a chest thumper + sundering weapon para to make it really OP...

I'd say that DoM and KeYs are about the only ones that I would consider watching on anything other than the Hall of Heroes obs mode, even then thats a huge stretch. The rest that consistantly play halls with any regularity consists of either shit guilds or a bunch of the "Who R You?" category guilds.

Personally the hero battle normal ladder and the hoh normal matches brackets on the obs mode should be chucked into a fire and never be put back on the list.

i think u urself once said that legoway IS a type of balanced, since it can be versatile...

and for the fact of copying, i've only seen 'em copy once! that's it...the rest was made withing the guild, either other builds, but modded, so it ISN'T copying...

and just about any idiot can realise that para with ct+sw, is going do be good in a team...if u can't think of that= /uninstall pls

and most of the time, they don't just get to HoH, they win a lot of HoH too...

You may have gotten me wrong, let me start again:

I'm NOT calling vE bad, they are a good HA guild that DOES win HoH alot.

However, they ARE also the "next best" HA guild aswell. There is enough guilds exactly like vE, who run nothing but legoway. Ok, they don't win HoH as often, but that doesn't mean they deserve "lesser air time", because some of them have more skilled players...

As for these "mods":

-Ritspike: Caller out, P/N with Chest thumper in.
-Sf-Spike: Caller out, P/N with Chest thumper in.
-RainbowSpike: Caller out, P/N with Chest thumper in.

Really, it's merely abusing an overpowered skill combo on an already OP bar... (DA ftw?)

Once again, I can ONLY promote 'mods' (Because it's modding that creates new builds and new meta's), and I DO amuse myself observing vE playing these builds in HoH, because at the end of the day, they ARE atleast trying to run something "new". But for me, it sticks with "trying", because as said before, they simply take an existing build, take whatever bar had the rend/dw out and put their Para in.

No, they don't deserve a spot in observer, and nor does any other guild. HA isn't worth observing, merely due to the fact that, as alot of nice people pointed out, HA is all about one-dimensional objectives.
For me, that's fine, and I still find more fun in HA than I do in GvG. (It's nothing compared to Old-school holding tough, that was amazing)
But it's simply NOT an interesting match to observe. The only reason why I still want HoH observing, is for the outsiders. To let them know there still is a place called HA, spit on by it's own creator (Anet) and abandoned by it, but non-the-less a place with good memories and -still- alot of "fun"-potential...

I kinda went philosophical in the end, but meh, noone will die reading it, I gues ^^

This thread needs to end on the following points.

* Being the best out of a bad bunch is nothing to be proud of and has been the case in HA for over a year so stop saying ''[XXX] wins HoH all the time so they are good'' or ''[YYY] is good'' unless you add the following ''because everyone else is bad''. ''Good'' can rarely be judged without making a comparison, in which case if the general competition is piss poor, being ''good'' only makes you better than piss poor. Congrats!

* You will learn more about HA by playing it than wasting time on obs mode.

* Its impossible to determine who is ''worth'' watching and who is not.

This thread is just an excuse for WHORU posts, HA obs mode for ''pro'' HA teams is a bad idea and a waste of server space and will only fuel their already grossly overblown e-peens, end of story, end of thread.

Most people here dont undestand it matters what build they are playing. It matters if they winn with it so people who need to learn tactics can see how they are winning with the build.

and like horace said, you guys are discussing about the guilds listed, while i have only seen a few out of 50 who actually said something about the idea

I like the idea as well, get a poll started on Guildwars.com and there u go.

My 2 cents,

Timmeh

Then you're completely full of shit. dR hasn't played halls for about half a year, and it was with 2W P Me E N 2Mo I think. If you think we take that into GvG, then you're wrong.

rawr holds with a GvG-esque build, but that doesn't mean they're not worth watching. I thought the point of OP was to obs tactics. If you want to copy a build, you can obs someone else, but rawr's tactics are pretty solid.

And what's wrong with legoway? Because it's a balanced type build that wins?

The OP was asking the questions based on being able to learn something from obsing. If you think you can't learn anything from obs mode besides copying builds, then start another thread, but keep that away from here.

That's what I'd like to see, but that's not the point of this thread.
