Default Core Profession GvG?

I was wondering, what kind of builds do you think you would see in GvG If they just had the Core Professions with all the core prof skills for all the campaigns. Basically just getting rid of dervs, paras, rits, and assassins along with their skills/weapons. I'm not suggesting this, I'm just wondering what builds the gvg community would come up with having all the skills from every campaign but only the core professions.

Shock-Axe I'm guessing would still be used, as far as I can remember, they were always used, but more frequently if this happened.

More Monk flag runners with the lack of Rits? Or would it be Ele flag runners.

So...What do you think what would happen?

Well not really the way it was. I mean all the new skills that core professions can use now with their current buffs/nerfs, but just lacking the "special" professions and their weapons/skills.

Also I didn't think necros were used too much. I always got feedback from people saying "In the old days Necros weren't the best at PvP" Even though I looked at all their hexes and said." Why not? They look awesome!"

we'd have [Crippling Shot] + [blackout] rangers

[eviscerate] and [backbreaker] warriors

[Divine Boon] + [Offering of Blood] monks

and a ele runner

...o wait

but really yea just drop the rits and you'd have everything else the same really

Edit: bah ok.

So, basically just the flagger changes, either Water Ele or some monk thing.

No, what the TC means is what GvG would look like WITHOUT the Factions/Nightfall classes, but WITH the new skills the core professions got in the expansions.

Part of the reason things are balanced the way they are today is because of the Proph > Factions > NF power creep. To do this right you'd have to look at selectively rolling back balance changes too.

...and this could be one of the reasons why this will probably never happen...

Guild: Looking for a PvP/GvG guild that needs Mesmers. Got rank 500 experience

Te, one of the most epic guilds in Guild Wars history, ran this build earlier.
(taken from guildwars.com guild of the week) :

* Monk/Necromancer: Blood Magic (10), Protection Prayers (13), Divine Favor (11); Reversal of Fortune, Divine Boon, Guardian, Holy Veil, Mend Ailment, Offering of Blood, Rebirth, Protective Spirit.

* Monk/Mesmer: Healing Prayers (14), Divine Favor (11), Protection Prayers (9); Reversal of Fortune, Orison of Healing, Word of Healing, Infuse Health, Mend Ailment, Protective Spirit, Smite Hex, Resurrection Signet.

* Ranger/Mesmer: Inspiration (9), Expertise (12), Wilderness Survival (11), Illusion (4); Flame Trap, Barbed Trap, Spike Trap, Dust Trap, Power Drain, Mantra of Resolve, Distortion, Resurrection Signet.

* Warrior/Ranger: Axe Mastery (16), Strength (11), Beast Mastery (8); Wild Blow, Eviscerate, Penetrating Blow, Executioners Strike, Sprint, Tiger's Fury, Endure Pain, Resurrection Signet.

* Mesmer/Elementalist: Domination (16), Inspiration (11), Illusion (4), Fast Casting (8); Power Spike, Energy Burn, Shatter Hex, Shatter Enchantment, Drain Enchantment, Power Drain, Distortion, Glyph of Renewal.

* Elementalist/Ranger: Air Magic (16), Energy Storage (11), Wilderness Survival (8); Glyph of Lesser Energy, Glyph of Energy, Serpent's Quickness, Chain Lightning, Lightning Orb, Lightning Strike, Dryder's Defenses, Resurrection Signet.

* Elementalist/Mesmer: Air Magic (16), Illusion (4), Inspiration (8), Energy Storage (10); Mind Shock, Lightning Orb, Lightning Strike, Air Attunement, Power Drain, Distortion, Mantra of Concentration, Resurrection Signet.

* Ranger/Monk: Expertise (12), Wilderness Survival (11), Marksmanship (12); Crippling Shot, Apply Poison, Storm Chaser, Holy Veil, Mend Ailment, Distracting Shot, Savage Shot, Troll Unguent.

Also take a look at the attributes. Eles with sup runes etc. And the most epic build ever in guild wars history: Crip Shot runner.

Note: Ofc the builds evolved during the time after this, but this was something that one of the best guilds in the world ran. But i dont know for how long they ran Rebirth monks.

Rc and woh monks wouldn't probably change much because nearly all their skills are from proph.
Axe and Hammerwarriors would still be used as well but without magehunter's smash. Modern Cripshot Ranger would'nt change a lot.
Maybe we would see more water eles.
Domi mesmers would probably stay alive, and for the flag, i guess it would go back to Eles.
Would be nice to have a Mat with only proph skills.
