I haven't played Guild Wars in about 3 months now...Did anything change yet?

This is in regards to what was meta back when I played...

HC, SoM, Condition ping pong..., WoD, Dual Monk, Dual Assa, Rangers sucking balls...

Are those still in TA?

HC is less popular, SoM is still lame as ever, Rangers don't suck balls, they never did, but the new meta is pretty lame. You'll see it for yourself when you get in there.

exactly the same, just woh + dual stance now

and r/w r/p do suck balls, and normal rangers still rape (which is what he meant, no doubt)

People were running dual stance monks back when I played. o_o

So are there some new gimmicks?

They are annoying as hell. However, Rigor mortis, mage hunter + magebane = Deal able.

EDIT: Just reread what you wrote
There were some new gimmicks, but the small nerf is making them easy to counter now.

Currently the most common builds you will see in ta are these:

Dual monk + Dual R/w axe rangers

Most commonly Woh or hc monk + melandru smiter boon monk
The rangers are using 2 interrupts (disrupting chop + agonizing) + disrupting lunge on the pets. The constant random interrupts can eventually wear down some teams by disabling critical skills.
Sometimes one of the rangers in this build is replaced with something else.

Dual som + R/p spearchucker + woh monk

Two dom mesmers with signet of midnight to keep the other team's physicals disabled. Sometimes mesmer/necro for plague send and even more blind spam.
The ranger spreads poison all over the other team while the mesmers lock down the monk + support charachter(s).

Can be considered pretty much a counter to the "balanced" build. In that case the plan is to get foul feast or any other condition removal diverted while the poison slowly kills.

Sometimes one of the mesmers is replaced with a soul bind necro.

3x mo/a + w/a

Shove spike. Been around for a long time. Not really sure how this build works after the nerf to shadowstepping in general.

3x ele + monk

Ride the lightning spike. The 3 eles jump one target with ride the lightning and use skills like lightning touch sometimes even shock on the spiked target.
Takes advantage of the fact that most monks in ta don't have the proper tools to deal with this kind of damage.

Rtl deals well over 100 dmg to a caster even with a lightning shield (+10 vs lightning damage)

A "new" build that has started to see some play is:

3 smiter monks + sin or thumper

Don't underestimate the damage of this build.
The constant aoe damage from the smites and the buffed sin or thumper can be too much for some teams if they don't know how to handle it. The monks use signets of judgment to help score kills on pressured targets.

War + Ranger + Nec + Monk

Considered to be the balanced build of ta. Skills in this build tend to vary. Sword, axe or hammer warrior. The elite on the necro sometimes isn't wod. The elite on the ranger sometimes isn't magebane.
The worst matchup for this build is vs dual som for obvious reasons.
This is the build you should be playing

I think that's the most common builds i can think of atm.

It doesn't, not unless you fall asleep. The shadowstep delay makes it really obvious, but sometimes they do a second spike shortly afterwards using another KD, and that spike doesn't have the delay.

That said, if the spike's perfectly coordinated, and you let the whole thing go off, your target may still die even if you make a perfect catch.

this sums up what skills are currently being abused in TA:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10307960

at No Mas, I had that just yesterday o.o - 2 knockdowns (1 for the ranger, the other one for the main spike) on the warr and a clean spike that killed even with woh getting through in time o.O

at hunbert, u forgot the mes+nec+melee or packunter+monk (aka dual hexway) build

Well i sorta mentioned it under dual som.
One of the mesmers is replaced with a soul bind necro. Some teams take psychic distaction as elite instead of som on the mesmer.

It's this build right?
