Good gvg monk won't suck in HA but many do.
Your statement implies that Liekkio is a good gvg monk.

Um, to get back o topic maybe I'll post some tips for the guy who wants tips and not an argument about gvg > ha monking.. but honestly, their shouldnt be an argument, sure their different, but gvg monking takes so much more skill...

Back to topic ->
1. Don't click your skills, its stupid.
2. Scream at your team if they stand in aoe for more than 2 seconds.
3. Click to move into channel tank balls ;o
4. When facing balanced, watch war and get ready to infuse/prot. If you have low energy and your the infuser, just pre patient everything the war runs up to.
5. When facing rspike scream at your team if your fully engaged and favorable winds has been up for more than 10 seconds.
6. When facing rspike scream at your team if they dont spread out, (its very easy to read rspike as long as they spread, so you have a good idea who to pre prot and who to get ready to infuse or pre patient)
7. When facing rspike scream at your team if the caller doesnt die or gets shutdown.
8. When facing rspike stand behind their caller, target him and watch for rends, this gives you a direct idea of who he's spiking.
9. When facing a caster spike... watch what direction they cast in and make sure your spread out. ***If its something ridiculously stupidly over powered like SF spike, then wait for them to enage with you, because most sf spike groups are pugs, and their callers are as shitty as sf spike is. So their going to do the "line up on 1 3,2,1" thing that all bad people in this game do. When they do snare them and do big aoe damage to them ;o and make sure your spread out at the same time.
***If your facing ritspike and your protting aura the target the second theirs a hex so it cant be kd'ed in rift. If your not that fast, then rof the target and rait for it to be stripped by rend, then spirit bond. If your infusing, then you better hope its a bad spike or your prot is good. ;o
***Most spike teams like to ball cause their stupid ;o take advantage of that if you run balanced.

~I've tried to cover everything but Im pretty sure I forgot alot of stuff.

Ohhhhhh yeah, and if your team stands in profane and or your not alerted of their being a profane scream and or rage quit ;o

I'm sorry if I repeat someone,I'm not going to read every post.
But,this is the order of your enchantments on yourself.
Channeling -> Healer's Boon
That is so,if you get enchant stripped,you still have Channeling,and HB has a fast recharge.

I'm confused by some of the contradictory advice on this thread. For a fairly new monk interested in both heroes ascent and guild vs. guild, should I learn to adapt to each and use channeling in one and some other source of energy management in the other? Or will doing this end up leading me to be mediocre in both? I ask only because I'm thinking about real life concepts here, that is, if you practice one thing, it eventually becomes a habit (second nature), so if you're put in a situation where that habit is not efficient, you will likely struggle.

Anyways, I'm afraid given the current responses I'll end up more confused than before.

Yeah, This is very important and a lot of monks do that mistake.
Besides quicker recharge, HB has 0.25 cast time, while Channeling's 1 sec makes it interruptable.

Channeling is useless in Guild vs. Guild matches because the maps are bigger so you cannot get the benefits of channeling and pushing your monks forward in gvg is a bad idea. So instead they go Mo/E and bring [Glyph of Lesser Energy]

Maps are smaller in HA, so AoE Fire spells like [Savannah Heat]and [Searing Heat] do more damage because there is less room to move out of them so monks have to cast more (Usually) and because the maps are smaller they can get massive amounts of energy back with channeling.

I don't monk, but this seems to be good advice, and Chaos is one of the best monks I've played with, so listen to him.
