Default RP System Fixes

We all know Anet fails and is incompetent at making fixes and stuff, but here's 2 solutions that are much better than the trash of a fix they did:

1) Revert back to before. All teams get RPs regardless of rank, but no completion reward. If you still want first place to get 90 RP, then make each win 6 RP, with 60 RP for finishing first. Otherwise, I see no problem with first getting 60 (+15) RP.

2) If you really want to keep the rank 1k+ system, make it so they don't get the completion RP, but they do get their RPs from wins and placing top 25%. That way, it "rewards" RPs to teams for making it on the ladder and completing an AT, while still giving lower ranked teams the ability to still get RP.

There are probably other ones, but these are simple fixes that aren't too complicated.

I totally agree. The lack of RP's pretty much dissuaded me and the rest of my guilds GvG team from wanting to participate in AT's even after the great amount of fun we had in the GWG Cup.

they are obviously better solutions than the one anet picked, but then again, since when does anet pick the best solution ?

dont realy care, but i can imagine it sucks for low ranked teams that want to do ATs. However, if you are any good, you will get into top1000 after 1 or 2 ATs anyway

But what if you're ranked 900-700 ?
You got to where you are with hard work.
You want to play AT, but you know now, you will loose your rank if you did.

So, the result is, 900-700 dont play.

Now suppose you're 600-500. If 900-700 dont play, the same appy to you. So you also dont play.

The same reasoning continues.
In the end only the top guilds will play.....

Which are?

Any report system will be abused as it always has been abused. Any system which rewards guilds for placing in the top tier of the tournament will just encourage these guys to enter more and more guilds. Some tourneys at american/asian times had already 20 guilds entering, some 13+ being afk-guilds, with some of them get wins (against each other) and finishing in the top 25%. I even saw a tourney where a afk guild had 4/1 stats. Removing just the bonus is not the solution.

Good fix, imho.

That's a dumb assumption, any guild that's at all serious about GvG should embrace playing against better people, you don't improve by playing against people that are worse than you all the time.

For any winner there is also a loser, The fact the top guilds are at the top is because they win more than lose. Thus its a reasonable assumption that a r800 guild will lose to a r300 guild (we are talking on average here).
Its also fair to think that on average that guild will lose most if not all their matches. Yes, some guilds will move up and improve with dedicated players, just as some will lose and become disenchanted and not play AT's. There will also be some that have reached their "talent threshold" at say a r600 guild.

To call any assumption that is not in agreement with yours "dumb" is just not nice imho.

The assumption I was referring to was people not playing because they're afraid they might lose a match.

That happens tho, combined with people who stop playing because they keep losing against high rank guilds and almost never face a guild of their own rank.

I think only 6 guilds played that AT because its early in the morning and less people playing GW because of summer so enjoying the weather/going on holiday.

Besides, if you play early in the morning you have increased risk of falling asleep in the afternoon when all the cool guys play.

I'm perfectly fine with the current system, since you know, dR (or any guild I guest for) isn't in danger of falling under rank 1k anytime soon. It got the job done of getting rid of most of the afk guilds. My solutions are just for the few rank 1k+ guilds that are legit and still playing.

My guild played in an AT that started at 11 EST last night. 10 Guilds joined the AT. 3 of them weren't on the ladder.

Some guilds are embracing this new system as a challenge and an incentive to improve and get those reward points.
