How do you beat the new build with R/P, Vision of Regrets Mesmer, Soul Bind Necro and Monk? I'm under the impression that if the opponents were not really bad we got overwhelmed by hexes, and conditions did the rest.

Any tips & tactics to beat this with the W/E R/Mo N M template?

If good people run it you can't :P

But it is weaker than before the nerf to signet of midnight..
R/P+signet of midnight with same shutdown as vision of regret+soul bind was a lot stronger..

take purge on the monk (make sure to fake it afew times, the mesmer carries cry of frustr...maybe the necro does too, not sure) and emphatic removal on the ranger. make sure to have at least 1 target preveiled all the time..possibly yourself or the melee. at the start have all 4 ppl preveiled or at least 3 of them, possibly cover veils with vig spirit.

it worked for my team and so the ursn lamers running that bit the dust.

@ steel singer, you can beat it with enough spec against it (ie. having purge and emphatic). and YOUR guild certainly isnt good, esp not because you're running that =p. you can beat even such a spec if u interrupt purge enough, but u got mine twice in the match i had vs ur guild and it wasnt enough for you to win.

They spam conditions with R/P, add pressure with soul binds and visions of regret. They have some form of shutdown added (shame, diversion, power spike an cry of frustr).
The bad thing is you can't outheal SoulBind and Vision of Regret. If you get those two on monk and ranger is pressuring monk too they most likely will get a kill.

Emphatic and purge seem quite clever. I'll try those.

I haven't had too much opportunities to play vs that build yet but the first experiences i got tell me:

UR warrior:

- maingoals are nec and mesmer ofc
- switch targets when u see guardian
- knocklock mesmer when u see pressure is increasin or/and ur ranger is bad

UR ranger:

- interrupting mesmer is a must
- debshot monk/nec
- spreadin poison
- maybe give ur ranger his purge sig back

UR nec:

- like always
- spam hexes, cover them
- ff poison and bleeding
- dont get ur ff diversed

UR monk:

watch post #3

keycharacter:

teh mesmer:

- deals most pressure - stopping him per interrupt or knocklock should be ur primary task
- since som is gone it isnt that hard at all to interrupt him because most skills cast time is 2 seconds+
- all mesmers i ve faced yet are bad (casting hexes vs quarterknocks, bad kiting, dunno what hct is...)

i am going to add more/edit sth, when i faced that build with guildteam

I'm guessing you never played against a good team running this.

The only team that I lose to is [ursn] running this build and urania thanks for sharing tips to beat them.

its NOT an idea. its what we ran when we beat them...idc if u run remove hex instead, but a ranger needs a hex removal of some sort.
moreover, its pretty good, so go stick ur self ownage comment somewhere else.

I actually went with a TA group the other day and we came across this team build.

I've never seen myself do so terrible as a monk... I could handle myself with the pressure, but I couldn't heal the others... Fail for me.

Uhhhh.. looks like I tripped on a mine.
Well, good hex teams bring arcane thievery. The old SoMway did it, that's why rangers started bringing antidote signet instead of mending touch, but you could still steal their remove hex.

If you defeated them with that on your ranger, I guess it's YOU who never faced a really good SoMway team. You were lucky they didn't have arcane thievery. The new one is not that different, they just take Visions of Regret instead of SoM.

The mean reasons for me to bring antidote would be:

- lower recharge
- no damage by soulbind
- u always remove blind (not possible with mtouch when blind was covered with bleeding + poison)

The newer somways didnt bring arcane thievery.

I had a long TA break and when we jumped in with godly Karla on our side and met ursn lamers. Having empathic removal on ranger (instead of that piece of overrated crap called magebane.... erm ok we just wanted to test some buffed stuff) turned out to be a very good move.

It eats 2 hexes and 2 conditions and also heals up to 100hp for only 5e. 7s recharge is reasonable.

This build is downgraded lameway of dual SoM bullshit. Thats why I quit TA cuz unstoppable permablind bullshit didn't rly meet my vision of fun and somewhat competitive game. And let me tell u... this lameway 2.0 is a joke compared to dual SoM. Same goes for triple smite, dual rao... Srsly if u call these builds gimmick then what was dual SoM? Hell on earth?

My advice is rly simple: ditch useless magebane for emp, take purge on ur monk and completely ignore retarded ppl who think dshotting draw conditions or ff is a viable tactics.
ursn is a shitty guild (every guild grinding one build 24/7 is), remember it and just roll them. With emp and purge (which u need to fake... time to time) u will soon make them run shove spike.

Played this last night for the first time...have to agree it's not as bad as dual SoM but it's still quite lame. Not a bad idea running empathetic removal on the ranger, but if it's come to that why not try it on a dom mes? It seems not long ago we were discussing the lack of good dom elites for TA.

The very first thing that crossed my mind when I saw the updated visions of regret was GG arena monks...this skill was not necessary at all for PvP.

We ran dual paragon with a hammerwar, one of the paras had remove hex. The paras kept killing the pet which helped quite a lot, and we basically spiked them out one by one in the small time windows where we could hit stuff. Maybe worth a try as well.

I've seen that ranger at work and it does a very decent job keeping the team clean. I can imagine it being very effective against this hexway.

Question is if you wanna give up magebane for it. I'd say no. Mainly because you do not even need empathic to win against this. As said before, it's less effective than dual SoM, SoM/Soul Bind used to be. We didn't need empathic removal back then, so we definitely don't need it now.

Taking certain skills to counter a build is ok, but you should not over-dedicate to it either.

And uhm, jace, dunno if all the lamers are actually listening to you or maybe you're just good at predicting, but I've seen a massive increase in shovespikers in the last two days.
