Boonsmites don't need an elite to function - see YAA smiters etc.

Yeah it would be a good idea - along making it a maintained enchantment to increase the energy hassle like DB- but imagine, you would have to put it in a new boss for PVEers, so much work for A-Net Hard-discount-shop-like team.

Boon Smiters not needing an elite? They would be severely harmed if the can't choose those so powerful YAA-MR. MR allows TA teams to completely clear people from conds with draw freely AND to be virtually immune to degen (+ mad energy management), which was a common way of pressure in TA not so long ago (I'm refering to the D/P blindbot, RaO hammer, Magebane R/M or necro, +monk), YAA is a super return needing no attribute.

There were so many better ways to handle the issue - because there was an issue, again I'm not defending SB- but A-net doesn't seem to be able to get them.

That's not the nerf that is bothering me - that's the complete unability to make a clever, well-thought nerf. If the balance crew wanted to delete the skill from PvP, they just had to do that : delete the skill for PvP and make it a PVE-only skill. It was very simple.

It is likely just a temporary nerf to remove it from play for the time being. Izzy did the same with p-leak for a while - nerfing it to where it was unplayable, then balanced it back into play.

I'm not saying that the skill will be re-updated in the future, but really, everyone needs to stop crying that it was an "un-thought out nerf." He wanted to be it out of play, which he did quite well, and also made some people lol. Some skills need to be nerfed into oblivion, and this was on such skill. He just did an overly-amazing job of it.

Also, considering skill updates usually only happen once every few months, it's really a nice change to see a few skills get updated in a small update, rather than a bunch of skills drastically changing all at once after a few months of no changes. It's a step in the right direction imo.

izzy only has so much time to think about all the updates. he's doing a lot atm, with all the very progressive vod changes the game is getting better and just needs tweaks imo, he took out smiters boon for the time being because he recognized that it wasn't balanced but he needed the time to focus on other stuff like balancing vod and gvg mechanics that have recently been drastically altered

izzy hasnt actually told me any of this its just what im assuming the reasoning is behind his actions which i support 100% and to all the naysayers i would like you to find me a person better suited for the job...it seems like the crews of other mmo's such as age of conan and fury arent nearly as up to par as the one working on guild wars so i kindly ask you all to shut the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO up kthx
