Starcraft was playing an Spellbreaker Prot monk. Both teams then proceed to spirit rift spike the ghostly at the same time, and my party on vent went crazy telling Starcraft about the spike on the altar. Starcraft then calmly says, "Yeah, yeah" and from there proceeds to spirit bond the ghostly with such precise timing that he survived BOTH spikes. I have no idea how he pulled it off but that is just insane.

We won the match and the best memory I have from the match was Starcraft putting Spellbreaker on the ghostly and then chuckling as both teams tried to spike to ghost to no avail... "Click, Click, Click! Hehehehe"

oh wait, he was playing a Spellbreaker monk, maybe he was just being smart instead? unlike 90% of the other *PvP* monks. he saw the rifts, and voila, he SPELLBREAKERED the ghost, followed up by sb and shield of absorption.

Spammable enough to use it for 1 spike? That one.

All Right, calculate it.

Assuming the other 2 teams had 16 Rits together (2*8 = 16). 16*100dmg (spirit rift) = 1600dmg. The Ghostly has 600HP.

Spirit Bond only heals for 10 hits (96HP at 14 prot). The first 10 rifts should do a total of 40Dmg (1000-960), which means the ghostly only has 560HP left. Oh wait, damn there is still 6 rifts to go, which means 540HP-600 = 60Dmg overkill. = Dead Ghostly.

Hang on, it takes 3 seconds for Spirit Rift to deal dmg, so they probably also had a "perfectly" timed followup. Assuming they used Wielder's Strike (Pre-Nerf), they would deal another 14*100dmg. Which means, the spike would have a 1460dmg overkill. = an even more dead Ghostly.

Conclusion: the Ghostly doesn't have 2060HP, which means that Spirit Bond alone wouldn't have been enough to keep him alive.

And you're telling me that i'm dumb....

I never said that it was Spirit Bond (Although you left SoA out of your pretty math equasion) alone, all I said was that the post indicates is that he did not Spell Break the Ghost......Obviously the infuser would have had to click his buttons as well but the spiritbonding made it Infusable, both in damamge and in timing.....

HB + Infuse is like a 600hp heal, still wouldn't be enough. There is a reason why people wanted rtspike to get nerfed back then....rediculous spikes. Anyway, don't want to get any further into discussion. But yea, i'll admit, Starcraft IS a good (prot) monk, one of the best infact.

And the best monk award goes to....

Seriously, he used to catch all the blood spikes back in the day with just Word of Healing.... He would've been even more godly if it was possible to self target it back then.

I dunno I've always played with my Guild/GvG monks in HA, much better than most r9+ monks that are around now and let people fart on you causing death.
