Dang, considering how much their spliter kept getting killed at the start, I'm surprised sup won. Granted, they did get more of a push into the gh early.

StS were all over Trim in that Semi - it was only that they didnt leave anyone back when pushing to the GL that cost them so dearly.

Jeez, I have 5 of my predictions in the top 8, but all so far off that my score still sucks.

Still think lorddamage is a silly mechanic. StS should've beaten rawr.

Sup finally got their gold when i stopped putting them on #1. Oh well.

MaT full of strategic errors.

KMD vs Trim quaterfinal frozen isle: KMD fight 8vs8 for majority of the match and for some reason run a 8vs8 build and attempt to beat Trim/rawr at their own game. A year of failed attempts (with few exceptions) by other much more experienced guilds should have told them enough by now, rawr are the king of the stand fight unless you run something lame like SB/RI. Maybe next time they will take a leaf out of sup's book and pay attention to the new game mechanics. Why run a 8vs8 ranger on frozen isle vs rawr with the new mechanics? Doesnt make any sense.

pd vs sup quaterfinal frozen isle: pd playing like a byob pug, sup didnt. Strange poison arrow barbed arrow ranger build, although they probably werent aware that degen does not count towards the new "aggressiveness" mechanic. Anets fault for not making an official announcement or the team's fault for not investigating fully (the info is posted on the official wiki somewhere obscurely). Just too chaotic.

StS vs vE quarterfinal frozen isle: 1 poison ranger > 2 pew pew rangers apparently. vE spent most of their GvGing months and this MaT running overly defensive split builds, suprising to see them run a stand build that lacks 5 water eles and 6 monks. Noones perfect though right?

StS vs Trim semi-final : StS flagger values morale boost over guild lord death, StS allows 3-4 man gank team to enter their base without sending anyone back. Otherwise StS clearly dominant and deserved of getting to the final... strange mistake though and a little arrogant of them, but in some ways, mistakes like that are common when running something like SB/RI.

bdv vs sup semi-final: I bet bdv kicked themselves after this match. But allowing that ranger to get on their bodyguard at 22min. Then their monks spend the next 2min stuck and snared out in no-mans land aimlessly while the rest of their team is getting wiped out. Monk dies after 26min leaving only 1 monk and 1 rit to defend in the closing stages.
sup somehow manage to send enough defense back one after the other and while bdv have no healing alive, with its last remaining monk on the wrong side of the map, they clutch victory out of the jaws of defeat. bdv clearly dominated by their end game positioning lacked any coordination at all...

Trim/rawr vs sup final - sup send ranger and emo into rawr's base throughout the match, rawr make neither a meaningful defensive response nor a meaningful offensive response. Match was over way before the 28min mark. Disappointing final, looked a little one way for most of it. Love the gate block by sup at the end... lawl!

Nice writeup/summary lorekeeper. I was also a bit puzzled by pd's degen ranger maybe they weren't sure how the mechanics worked? I would say anet is to blame for that. It shouldn't be so hard to explain what works and what not.

I only got 50 points for my predictions as far as i can see. Not that great.

Btw do i get a cookie for beeing the only guy around to even mention sup as a possible threat?

We were fully aware that degeneration does not affect the Guild Lord.
I have other reasons for choosing that combination.
That is all.

We talked about that match fervently and you can attribute our loss to [sup] not playing our build like we should of. More or less I didn't play like I usually did and I did not play aggressively. We fully understand our build and why we lost. Nothing in our build needed changing. It is not a byob pug, it is a very thought out build that we have practiced a ton and works well in this meta. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to pm me or any member of [pd].

Thank you for watching =]
