Default Caretaker's Charge question

Disclaimer: As always, I am still not a hardcore gvg player so please help me understand this instead of flaming.

So I love watching GvG and the RT meta is to run [Caretaker's Charge] right? I'm looking at this and I can understand why it is a desired elite, since its a free heal/damage spell, but I have a question. Is it really worth the elite slot? The damage doesn't seem like a whole bunch and the healing is even less. The only great thing about it is its free. Sort of like a life stealing spell except this doesn't ignore armor.

My question is, why don't they bring something else? I understand Rt elites are limited for PvP let alone Gvg. Since its a flag runner an elite item spell won't do, and spirits are pretty much meh for an elite skill, but why not spells like [Spirit Light Weapon] since most of the time [Life] or [Recuperation] are up, whether its from your team or the others. [Weapon of Remedy] and [Xinrae's Weapon] (after buff) looks good as well. Perhaps [Wielder's Zeal] for easier [Weapon of Warding]/[Weapon of Shadow] but most likely not.

So can anyone explain to me why [Caretaker's Charge] Is the Elite of choice? Is it purely because its free? Or a jack of all trades sort of skill? Are we never going to see any other rt elites out there?

^said the reason
so, WoR and Xinrae's wep are also excellent choices, I'd take xinrae's over caretaker's on a runner.

on split u have more dmg which is nice and free, also at stand its good for spikes. and other wise other rit elites aren't really needed like WoR and xinraes wep are not so great heals that wow+wb or smoothing memories do for a more efficient outcome.

WoR was kinda nice back when people split, but since that's dead, I can't see why you would skip caretakers.

u need the dmg/heal for split and for chasing out gankers from base.
recuperation is only used as flagstand btw

the nice part about caretaker's is a few things. A. its kinda spammable at the stand and makes up for lack of old skills such as a rage, and sometimes people bring channeled strike on the runners too for some extra 3 2 1 Dmg. But B. (what i believe is the best use for it), ur at ur base. A warrior with no self heal is u know killing ur archers one by one, maybe pissing u off when u run a flag or something. Now u sit there and heal the NPC, but is that really all? i mean u sit there the guy hits and when he cant kill hes gunna give up.. now with caretakers u throw a heal on the archer and bam u keep spamming it ont he crippled war... gets pro skills. It's also pretty cool on splits for a bit of extra dmg on a 3 man split or so. But mostly its for some extra 3-2-1, free energy skill, and to kill some stuff on splits.

Any good ranger will eat the shit out of a Caretaker's rit. WoR has a much better chance of survival. However I run Xinrea's.

The reason people originally brought it if I remember right is because of bringing the 25e Recuperation on bars, it was nice to have a free damage skill, as well as Soothing Memories which was only technically 2e.

It's nice to have a free damage dealing skill, though I never thought it was that great. There's really no other amazing rit elites that would be good on a runner bar though, besides WoR. Maybe something else with the new buffs might work though.

Also Caretaker's synergizes decently with flag runners because holding the flag counts as holding an item.

The only reason people run Caretaker's is because all the alternatives suck hardcore monkey balls.

apart from WoR and the new buffed Xinrae's.

I know our runner prefers CC over WoR. BUT ARKANTOS PREFERS XINRAE, WHICH MIGHT JUSTIFY IT.

meh.
