Found on some tyrian weapons: +15% dmg, -1 health regen.
Add a vampiric mod and you have double vamp.

Used to kill yourself when you were stuck or if people want to timekill you.

A weapon with an inherent -1 health, +x% damage bonus and a vampiric prefix. Handy for when you need to die RIGHT NOW.

Aside from that there's one thing that you can never get on a PVP character and that's a dire pet. Not particularly used in most PVP forms but some (hero battles) see quite a bit of play with pets. Getting a free 20% damage bonus is worth it.

Aside from that, it's really not that hard to equip a PVE cahracter for PVP if you have a bit of gold. If you're starting PVP, use PVP characters, but if you have a character you primarily play feel free to build the PVE character up to PVP readiness. Just don't use it until your ready and make sure you keep a PVP slot for when your PVE characters can't cover it.

Rare weapons that have a "Damage +15%, health regen -1" inherrent mod on them.

Then of course you would add a regular Vampiric Mod, so you would receive -2 Degen, yet gain double health when attacking. - If memory serves me right.

Edit: The above people beat me to it.

Reward points and what they offer have substantially blurred the boundaries between pve and pvp characters. Its all down to whether you prefer the adjustability of a pvp character but can't pve with it, or the ability to pve with your character but have less adjustability. In terms of appearance, both characters looks are equally the same.

1) Relying on PvE characters limits your span of player development - When you have the ability to "re-roll" a character (delete your current pvp character and quickly make a completely new one of a different profession to fullfill a team's needs) you can fit into any role you so desire...i.e. move from frontline melee to midline support/offense, etc.
2) Equipment - The "J" key while on a pvp-only character is an absolute God-send...The "J" key allows you to creat any weapon/stave/offhand/shield/etc etc etc that you want (as long as you have the respective mod unlocked via PvE identify or purchase with 1000-3000 balth faction). While on RP characters you must have EVERY shield set with armor modifiers, plus a separate set of armor for pve and pvp...it's just wayyyyyy more of a hassle than you want to deal with, trust me
3) Quick Adaptability - If you're on, let's say, a fire ele and your team decides "hey guys, let's change our build. Larry, we need you on an UG Earth Ele now please." Your RP character may not have all the skills needed purchased on it nor have a 40/40 earth set. Being on a PvP char allows you to say "ok!!!!1111!!" and change elements with a snap of your finger (well, not literally...more like a click)

I hope this helps to answer your question. It seems that you're a new PvP'er (or possibly relatively new to the game entirely), and if this is the case I recommend you leave 1-2 slots open for PvP-Only characters to make your transition between characters seemlessly easy. Good Luck!
Actually most hardcore PvP'ers specialise in one particular profession, especially in GvG and a lot of the time they will have a PvE character to play this role. They will have all the shields vs all the damage types, all the different armour pieces they need and all the different skills and weapon sets they need for that profession.

However I doubt many people will have this for more than 3 or 4 professions, so yes PvP Characters will be used then but yeah if you have all the stuff, which a lot of people do in PvP (for at least 1 profession) then PvE > PvP.

imo 99.9% of players use PvE chars just for the looks (even armors can be unlocked PvP)

I also have 9 different shields and 4 different weapons depending on the situation (4 Swords with +5 Armor, +7 physical, +7 elemental, and +30 health). You would never be able to fit all of this onto a PvP character.
You can fit this much on a pvp character too. I've been using a pvp warrior for quite a long time now and have all the bags + belt pouch set up now. In addition to being able to move any of the pve-exclusive stuff over (as has been mentioned numerous times), tournament reward points let you get around the arbitrary limit on items you can create in the J-menu. Anything you've changed with RP can be put into your storage account, so just throw a bunch of stuff into the chest to get below the limit, and then make what you need. And of course, all these items can also be altered when equipped without the hassle too.

Because of this, I've got almost an entire inventory full of pvp items on my warrior. 3 sets of armor, 3 hammers, 4 axes, 3 swords, 2 spears, 2 scythes (sometimes one just wants to run w/d... or dream of pulling a scythe out just for a bull's strike on 2 or 3 people =P) a full set of q9 strength shields (I almost never run lower than 10 str anyway, but if I did, I might invest in getting some q8 str shields in pve land and then move them over), a pair of tactics shields (only the reduction ones though. My +armor ones aren't RP shields, so I can just remake them as tactics if I ever need to) a long bow, an enchanting staff, and a focus. Even if they started to allow armor swapping again, I'd still be better off on my pvp war than I probably ever will on my pve war.

Get some reward points already.

Aside from that, function > looks anyway, and PvP chars are way less of a hassle.

I also use my pve warrior for pvp but other than that PvP (I'm rubbish at everything else apart from mesmer/ranger so it doesn't matter how i look )

When you like both PvE AND pvp you're in deep sh!t when you need your pve toon to actually pve. My warrior is outfit for PvP and everythine I do a dungeon run my inv is full after the first level. PvP chars for me mainly because of storage issues.

The only time I use a PvE character is in AB so I can see where the line has moved on the map, as it's blurred out when viewed by a PvP character. The rest of the time it's always a PvP character to get access to weapons templates for quick changes, and full set of UAX skills, as I am not prepared to put in the time in PvE, to cap everything possible for each toon, when I mainly play PvP. I often use PvE weapons etc. for fine tuning builds, and looking fancy.

Lolshinde.

Shinde resides in ra only so he's not ever going to get any rp's and will never face any resistance that can disprove him.

It's a proven fact that prettier monks take less damage and prettier warriors do more damage.

So looks = winning > losing.

Use RPs or PvE, just please don't have an ugly character.
