It's interesting to weigh the results from the automated tool with predictions made here by people in the know. I know jack about the GvG scene ( but I'm learning fast... ), but I doubled the payout just by reading this thread.

Automated picks:

1) What's Going On
2) Vent Rage
3) Rebel Rising
4) Dangerous and Moving
5) Steel Phoenix
6) Virtual Escape
7) Dangerous Pumpkins
8) On ne Plaisant Pas Avec Patrons

7 Prediction Points (correct me if I'm wrong)

Automated picks weighted by this thread:

1) What's going on
2) Rebel Rising
3) Straight Outta Kamadan
4) Wiping as Intended
5) Steel Phoenix
6) Virtual Escape
7) Dangerous Pumpkins
8) Battery Powered Friends

12 Prediction Points (again, somebody check my math...please).

Granted, there was an upset that threw a wrench in the works.....

but all and all, very good so far. I did use the automated picks on the 1v1 ladder. If it performs, 100-130 Tournament Reward Points shouldn't be out of the question.

Actually I believe you would have recieved 11 points.

3 for rawr
5 for KMD
3 for Steel Phoenix

Either way, it's a fairly large difference in the long run. I had a few good ones, a few bad. It sucks when randoms come out of the way into the top 8, but atleast you know who will usually be in the top 5. rawr should be a 1-3 pick ALWAYS, and KMD seems to make it in the top 8 everytime. It sucks that guilds that are good like sup and idle and others aren't consistently hardcore in the monthly GvG tourney.

+1 for Dangerous Pumpkins, no?

Just imagine if we could get some hard data on 1v1!

*my bad, I put Dangerous Pumpkins in #7 on my actual picks too, corrected in the above list (Dangerous and Moving confused my typing fingers!).

Yeah if I saw dP there I would have said 12

But yeah.. it kind of sucks that people change their names 24/7 during HB time. It's basically just picking random names, even though there are always a few of the same people always in the top 8. But yeah.. I got 20 points on one account for GvG alone, with two at 10 and one at 7 (Friends accounts of course). And to think, at one point I had all my picks the same as the account that got 20. Oh well, it's better to have some variations from account to account so that EVERY account doesn't fail. But yeah, not too bad, 65 zkeys just from GvG.

KMD has done a great disservice to all unsuspecting XTH participants by allowing Build Wars(gg) to be in the predictions list. The very least they can do is announce that (gg) will be forfeiting their games. Similarly likewise, SUP too should have said something. Unless they did that on purpose.

It's been said all over that gg wasn't going to play, and they have registered gg before in past mATs and not played on it.

Like here, for instance: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...2&postcount=42

Edited to add: Of course, do you really think they care about XTH players? They shouldn't, at all. That's not the point of GvG, you realise? They don't play every month solely to line the pockets of your xunlai box.

Mitch or someone from KMD can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they register [gg] for the off chance that it just might push the tournament to 7 rounds making the tie breaker a little more manageable. That or they just want the -50 cause who cares about rating on a smurf.

But yea like the guy above said, they don't and really shouldn't care that they may be messing up some dumb pvers predictions. You wanna get rich off of someone elses success, then maybe do a little more research on what you are betting on.

Mostly cause of the -50, the rank on gg got a little too high for proper laddering, getting a 7 round swiss would be a nice bonus, unfortunately there were 1 or 2 guilds too little in the end

People should just learn to actually read the forums then, I also had people PM me in game asking the very question of what guild we would play on and I gave them all an honest answer. It's not harder than actually paying some attention, and after 7 months you'd think people would learn, but maybe that's just me.

4. Whats Going On - sup?
5. Steel Phoenix - always #5?
6. Virtual Escape - always #6?
7. Dangerous Pumpkins - festive name
8. Battery Powered Best Friends - this

..sneaky NOW.
rawr +5
idle 0
kmd +5
sup 0
stp +3
ve 0
dp +1
vibe 0

18 pp's? Not bad... Means I get at least 105rp from GvG. I suppose if even a few of my HB ones get in top 8 it'll push me over to 130rps, yeah? Fun fun.

P.S. rawrbuild up ;D

5+5+3+1 = 18? Since when?

lol

Anyways, on my 5 accounts, highest I got was 18, lowest was 6. I did quite well for having StP for 6th and 7th on most of them, and KMD in 3rd got me quite a few as well. rawr for first was easy money . Still, not nearly as good as I had hoped. sup not even playing turned out not to matter, but holz, idle and vibe not even cracking top 8, much less top 16 for holz and vibe? Ouch.

Pretty sure zero probably wouldn't have made silver if rawr and zero hadn't decided to spend a match dancing and doing conga trains in order to force a draw. And StP would probably have gotten silver no matter the outcome vs rawr.

Your reply would be better without adding the word "dumb pvers" , don't you? Unless, just because reading "will not play (in the round robin)" means "will forfeit" was misunderstood is being dumb?

Provided rawr would have won maybe, zero had a pretty decent tiebreaker though, they were pretty much garanteed top 16 already.

Rawr's tiebreaker on the other hand was quite shitty, if they would have lost to zero it wouldn't have been unthinkable that they would have missed top 16.

This is the reason some people complain about not getting all their RP's - but of course its always anets fault
