I did some testing with the master of damage - 52 dps with the eviscerate build posted, 68 with [dragon slash][sun and moon slash] substituted for [eviscerate][executioner's strike], and 65 with [quivering blade][sun and moon slash]

Highest damage in a single second was 187 for evisc (done in the first second !), 163 quivering blade, and 119 for dragon slash (slightly unlucky).

Obviously the deep wound from Evisc is an advantage in parties with healing, but the sword bar has unblockable attacks, higher dps, and a daze (huge monk shutdown). Axes are good though because you get a high dmg crit on anyone who's running... that's about another 10 vs a kiting target.

Now I'm learning to tag people with daze just as they start to kite...

Might also try [quivering blade][sever artery][gash][bull's strike][frenzy][rush][shock][enraging charge]

Here's an actual question: If I have 440 of 644 HP, and you hit me with a 40 dmg dismember - will my HP now be 400 of 544, or 300 of 544 ?

also a 93 dmg dazing hit is nasty

Deep wound always comes off the top, so 300.

If the number damage is not enough to kill, but the loss of health from DW would be enough, then HP is set at 1. A little degen or an extra hit will kill, but many people have been saved from that situation.

Max health decrease from deep wound triggers on damage dealt after deep wound is applied, so neither is right. You'd have 400 of 644. When the max health decrease is triggered, then yes, you would lose 100 hp off your current and your max, so 300 of 544 (minus whatever the secondary damage is). Pretty sure this is how it works, or at least this is how I always learned it works (both from my experiences and others), but correct me if I'm wrong...

The type of axe you use has no relation to its damage. All types can do 6-28 damage.

Chaos axes are big signs that say "I'm over here, prot monk!"

I prefer something more stealth.

Hello, 140 Damage. And by the way 16 Axe is bad, even Polly stopped running it, I think.
We still prefer running Dual [Warrior's Endurance] for Spikepressure, you can call a spike like every 2-3 Seconds. When playing Eviscerate, you need a lot of adrenaline for just a few damage more. In pure Spikebuilds Eviscerate is better tho.

Cripslash is a highpressure skill, aslong your opponent is not running Foul Feast.

In a caster supported spike (most spikes now, all good balanced spikes since casters can be quite a bit more versatile in support than extra warriors) dismember with something like WE supporting it is going to be superior. For a more physical spike with less caster supported damage (why do this, every caster class class has good spike skills now?) eviscerate does work better.

Cripslash is kind of hit or miss, usually does not work well in a 2 warrior 8v8 offense.

Spent a K on dyes before I figured out how to make it red.

Also it's dance with death oldschool, do I win ?

[Sever artery][gash][bull's strike][frenzy][battle rage][shock][conjure lightning][enraging charge]

Or the axe equivalent.

Also: superior strength and axe mastery runes (instead of minor) increased my critical hit damage from 73 to an incredible 77. Aside from the 5% increase in number of critical hits I can say I'm never using superior runes again.

The skin makes a huge difference.
Chaos Axe deals chaos damage so is better against targets with high armour.

Axes like the great axe do greater damage because they are heavier but often make your character move and attack slower.

Its sad that this games been out for so long and people still dont understand basic game mechanics.

Does Warrior's Endurance generate enough energy to use [Gale]? It would be rather interesting. Can't test it myself though.

Not really, cause exhaustion still owns you in the face.

Unless you have one of those axes that dropped from the desert/shiverpeaks chests right after the game came out. They regen exhaustion quicker, but they're hard to find these days.
