Default Jade Quarry, leechers, and bots

I come from a PVE reference, but, I like some of the Luxon skill for PVE, so, I've been doing Jade Quarry to reach higher Faction levels. However, doing JQ is getting more and more frustrating every day. Rarely, do I get in a group that doesn't have leechers, bots, and people who drop out within seconds of getting in. I'd say 9 out of 10 are like this. It can't be that all these people are leechers who are just going along for the ride to get a few Faction points. It is my thought that the other side, in this case Kurzicks are planting someone and then dropping out so that their buddies can get max Faction points. At the risk of being called paranoid(lol), if it was just once in a while I wouldn't think this, but, for weeks it's been just about every group I go with. What's the deal?

never fear raku, i am a double agent for the luxon and kurzick side. after seeing the atrocities that occur in that dark, evil forest i can assure you my loyalties lie first and foremost with the luxons.
from my time as a double agent i have reason to believe that the kurzicks are indeed planting moles deep in luxon territory to sabotage their efforts to gain glorious faction. whether their intentions are for the benefit of their fellow kurzicks or simply to wreak havoc on the morale of luxon forces is irrelevant, although i tend to believe those filthy kurzicks would act for the latter of the two motives; their sense of loyalty to their homeland is too weak to presume the former.
i have long sought for a defensive retaliative measure against this treacherous act of the kurzicks. my search, however, has thus far been in vein as i know the luxons to be morally above a barbaric mirror retaliation. the best we can do is pray to our Glorious Turtle God of Righteousness to smite down the kurzicks just as the Koopa Troopas of old smote down Mario, the foulest turtle hater known to luxon-kind.
in summary, QQ cry moar, JQ is srs bsns.

It's been like this as long as I can remember. Some people really have decent reasons to be AFK (Bathroom Break) or to leave (Something unexpected comes up), others are too lazy to play so they let others work for them, or use bots to make it "look" like they're "helping".

Bottom line: The problem isn't going away anytime soon, if ever.

Yes we all know I think, though I think it was much worse a couple months ago, its tuned down a little, but still pretty open. I play on Kurzick and Luxon, but the Luxon side usually always has more leechers.

For example, in FA you usually have tons of people that can go /A for 2ndary profession and use Shadow of Haste to get back to the spawn point thats only reachable in the beginning, even if it "looks" like they are going out to battle, they will pop back into a spot where no one see's them for the rest of the match.

Sadly JQ is the same, usually always someone with a stupid name or obvious leecher traits, its just ignorant and I don't know how people can do it The sad thing is that theres not much we can even do about it, personally I don't have time to report someone standing around when im needed down in the mine, and some people are even scared to report because they think they will get banned for over-reporting.

I think its pitiful sometimes, though Luxon's are great allies, sometimes im suprised when I see someone fighting alongside me, I think its a great player, then seconds later the same person might ditch for whatever reason. Like I saw this morning 1 person leave because 1 player didn't log in yet, then another left right because that one left, and it starts a chain. 7 on 8 or even 4 on 8 isn't impossible odds. And when it comes to the case of ditching for instance when we have leechers (because the leecher won't /resign) we are *forced* to warp out or fight. Then back in town I have to wait 30 minutes because I warped out during a fight? Come on, something is just wrong.

Personally, I can't understand the nerve of leechers, reporting is useless as they just delete the account and make another char, but the IGNORANCE of some people just gets on my nerves, like this one leecher that started to dance during the match when people reported him?

Is it REALLY that hard to fight? You will get more points when you fight, leechers and botters are disgusting people imo, and if I ever catch anyone doing it I will most likely report to their clan personally about them doing it.

Leechers and Botters are on the Guild Wars Welfare Program. Until the government (Anet/ncsoft) actually does something about it nothing will change we can complain and complain till we are red in the face. All we get is red in the face and all the leecers and botters get more and more faction

like the other guy said, your lucky people even play JQ any more. But yeh the leechers and griefers are a huge headache, and whats worse is when you report them if no one else does you get dishonour points.

But theres been many threads opened about this and im sure this'l get a close soon enough .

I think the Guild Wars welfare program (leechers) increased with the new administration. Ask not what you can do for your luxons, but ask what your luxons can do for you!

Handouts r the new mantra!

Rhamia, that was really funny.

Hey, thanks all. I feel better now that I know I am not the only one who feels the way I do.

In the meantime, I got to level 7 today. I think I will stop doing JQ until Anet does a double points weekend.

I had the same problem with FA, which is 1 reason why I switched to JQ. I never knew the time when no one was doing it.

Where do I see my dishonor points? I must have a bunch.

You can't see your dishonor points. From my personal excperience, Luxons win more AB games and lose more JQ games. FA is really unbalanced (for the kurzicks' favor ofc) so I didn't even include it. If you just want to raise your points fast and you don't have loyalty to your current guild/alliance then I'd recommend that you switch to Kurzick, JQ gives way more points for time spent than AB.

Exspecially if you are a PvE player and don't like leechers. Not that JQ AB or FA is PvP. Just go vanquish. SCMQ runs happen all the time for luxons. I mean jesus the top luxon alliance has 168m faction or something. Just group with them and vanquish. For kurz 22k/30 minutes in moro trail is simple. H/H can roll it.

All the pvers are done botting/leeching their r12 kurzick and now everyone is botting/leeching their r12 luxons. ANet doesn't give a damn about this and they never will, that's something you have to accept as a player.

But really, quit doing cooperative PvE like JQ and invest some time in things more worthwhile. If you PvE mainly, the only real reason i can see someone farming kurz/lux faction is to increase the effectiveness of the linked PvE skills. If that's the case in your situation, just join kurzick and run the same garbage everyone else does to get quick, easy, boring faction. Unless you're one of those ridiculously absurd people who feel a certain loyalty to some silly faction in a video game, then i guess you're just SOL and i hope you get well soon.

OK!! lol!! You have a point. I reached level 7 and I am bored with Faction farming and yes, I was just boosting the effectiveness of those certain PVE skills. I don't feel any need to get to a higher level.

It's truly amazing how people use bots or even go as low as leeching in jq. What's the point????? It not only annoys the team but every player both luxon and kurzick that it happens to. Wish there was a way to prevent this from happening.

+1 Quite possibly the best (and only) Super Mario reference to be used for GW. Congratulations on a job well done!

I play JQ regularly and have noticed that there are more and more leechers every day. I did 3 rounds this morning and had 2+ of them every time. Thing is, I report them, others report them, they get the dishonorable mark, but they're back as soon as the mark is gone. I emailed this complaint and was told to send screenshots/time/etc about it. I have done this, others have done this, numerous times. Nothing is done. This makes it darned frustrating for those of us who actually DO play the game. Does ArenaNet even pay attention to it's players? I see I'm not the only one with this complaint. Hopefully things will be different in GW2.

I get the feeling that there's nobody at Anet who investigates the /reports.

The rules aren't enforced in JQ (and FA) so it seems you're free to run an 'Enter Battle' macro, leech all day, then come home to max Balthazar and allegiance faction.

Without a warning or deterrent, these behaviours will continue.
