Default Heroes' Ascent

Hey,
I've never really been a PvPer besides AB and some RA, but as of late I've really been wanting to learn how to HA. And seeing as this weekend is double rewards weekend, I figured it'd be a good time. So I was wondering if there's anyone who would be willing to teach me how to HA. I know competitive PvP is a whole different world than PvE, but I think I could catch on quick enough. It's not that I'm a noob, or that I suck at GW, I just never got into PvP. I have all skills so I can run any build on any profession that you need. Flamers, if you have nothing nice to say, don't comment. Yeah I know, I'm a PvE scrub, noob, nub, nob, and every other name you want to call me.. I've heard it all, you're negativity is not needed here. So if anyone is willing to help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

PvP stands for Player vs. Player. In RA and AB, players play on teams against each other. Meaning you don't fight NPC's primarily, but rather other actual players. PvP doesn't stand for Player vs. Player that Actually Requires Skill to be Good At. Don't know if you realized that.

this made me lol. AB might be kind of pve-ish but RA? come on, that's just grasping at straws.

AB and RA are very uncoordinated sets of PvP.

What the OP needs to understand is that organized PvP requires teamwork and communication. You're going to have to 'grind' some experience.

It requires alot of work but you can't expect to turn up in HA on double weekend and for some r12's to play with you.

I don't play HA alot so I'm just going to give you some general advice:

1. Go in Obs mode and watch some HA matches with some top guilds/teams - watch what skills they use, when and how they use them, where they stand and their movement/positioning in general. This gives you a bit of knowledge of how you're meant to play in or against these builds and what you should be doing.

2. Join some unranked teams, it's unlikely you'll get in a ranked team so suck it up and play in unranked. Yes some are bad and yes you won't get alot of fame but it's a start, you'll become more familar with maps and maybe some of the people you play with will see you improving and invite you to play with their friends/guilds.

3. Don't trash talk but don't be quiet either, you don't want to be forgotten. If you're on vent don't talk too much but always say whatever you think is necessary (low energy, spike this target, shutdown this character/skill).

4. Friends list - important part, add people that you think are at the same level or better than you ( ALWAYS, ALWAYS ask first before adding - otherwise you may get ignored). Always act enthusiastic and happy to play so people will see you as a reliable player and will be more likely to ask you.

Yes alot of it is down to skills but the social aspect of PvP is a huge factor often overlooked by newer players. If you're enthusiastic about it and willing to learn you should pick skills up quicker than other players who are more often than not looking for the easiest way to get their bambi without having to actually work for it.
