pressure is very very very far from dead... as for hexes.. lingering and vor will get a pvp nerf next month.... they've had it coming for ages...

pressure on the other hand is still a maturing phenomenon. spikes are dying [except that amazing dual para build]. splitting is forcing 8v8 builds to pack loads of defence on them... however, if one looks well at the updates ANET allowed for pressure to grow subtly... in my opinion it was a bold move on their part... i should expect a decent MAT this month... hexes are gonna get crushed though. that's a fact.

Well whoever is better at the individual personal defense will be ahead of the curve... teams that have used Distortion, Shield Bash and Hex Breaker, will be better against teams that tried to hide behind party wide defenses. Personal protection and clean bars (Hex and Condition free) will be key in this next monthly... not so much the overall damage, but the prevention of individual pressure leading into party wide pressure.

I really don't think that hexes are super overpowered, maybe they are easier to play but I don't think they have any advantage in winning, I can see any build winning the tournament as long as the teams are adjusting according to the map and opponent

Good teams will adjust to the hexes. We're already seeing things like Empathetic Removal being used, and monks are carrying Holy Veil again. I wouldn't be surprised to see Expel Hexes in some builds.

Overall, I think the loss of aegis might have a bigger impact than people think. Teams that were addicted to it might struggle some in the new meta. Warriors were helped by that change more than the killing of WE hurt them, and physical pressure by paras is now an option.

Veil is pretty subpar against hexes, compared to the other skills you can bring.

ye but think about it for a second... over the years we have seen gvg go from full-teaming to split to full teaming again and now it looks like splits are becoming a fashionable choice.

now i see a couple of solutions; one can either go with the flow and build a split build capable of 8v8 but not as effective or else one can make a 8v8 build capable of a defensive split which forced the split to 8v8.

Dual paragon builds have been owning it up. Its a direct response to the dual necro and VoR mesmer builds. All these healing chants with 1 para running empathic removal = bye bye pressure.

Hmm, havent seen that build - but sounds pretty nice!

Finally some hardcore Buildwars against hexes!!

Altough i do miss the old "When you face 8v8 builds, you split".

Its still to OP split some of this builds
