I'm really starting to enjoy these.

You should consider having a coanchor and is there any way to get better quality video?

Maybe one of the fansites or even anet could you hook you up because your commentary is what makes these vids interesting. Start making some contacts.

Well the only way the video quality will get better... is if I had the money to buy a better rig... my current one is about 2 years old with midgrade cards and stuff... its one of those things where its House payment verses new gaming rig... and the the house normally wins :-/... but if i had a better rig... you would probably be seeing these in High Def and the whole works...

I am hopeing some day, that this kinda thing will take off and I can do this for a living for not just this game, but others... currently I only do real sports events (not commentary, just as a tect) but this is what I do in my spare time because its fun and challenging.

yes I have heard that a lot from people... but then again... it was on a boring map... small area where you can see everything at all times... but that was the map rotation and [KMD]'s super spikes and secondary heals do it again.

Watched half of the first vid - will definitely catch the rest later -gj, and ty yet again.

I would suggest opening up a couple of actual party windows so you can really see whats happening in terms of hexes, conditions etc -

I've always hated those two lil semi-visibile party windows in the bottom right corner

Also +1 on the suggestion of a co-anchor. Commentary is always more entertaining with two people who can bounce off of, and compliment each other.

This month's is much more professional than last months, and I loved last months. So this month is that much better. Congrats to KMD, for history does indeed repeat itself...

This is a good way to show PvE people some PvP 'culture. It's like watching football or icehockey ^^ Will catch the rest of them too.

You seemed a whole lot more comfortable with the commentary and the intermittent dialog this time. Was a boring final but the spikes were rather impressive and I'm glad for [KMD] once again.

Keep 'em coming! They're getting better and they started out well =).

EDIT: Just a suggestion, and I know you're probably getting a lot of them, but if you could try to get some clips from earlier tournament battles, that would be awesome. Like, before the game begins show some examples of effective [KMD] spiking against some more well-known opponents as well as the [cry] path to the finals.

Yes I noticed that myself... also, the Mesmer never used an Elite skill the entire match and pretty much stayed with only 4-5 skills... I really wished I knew what the Elite was... or if the player even had one to begin with.

He used his elite, Power Block, once the entire game, on our Flagger, I do not remember the time when he used it but he did.

Thanks for the note mate... I was looking and looking an I could not see it, so I was like screw it, Ill just call him a Dom/Insp Mesmer... It would be nice if ANET brought back the Skill Usage Charts which would add even more content to these videos... so thanks for pointing it out Ego and GZ again.

Yo, sabre, thanks. i love all your videos. i also think you should add another person to the mix, 2 people gives more ideas and make it sound more like a casual conversation than you talking to us all the time. just my opinion

Yep, might not have mattered as much for 2 spike finals, but this is definitely the proper way to obs.

for graphic quality, it's not so much about hardware, but more determined by the codec used and the uploaded video's resolution. uploading video at 840x524 with xvid codec quality setting at x2.5 resulted in a blurry mess (see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOr9bsTA7Ag&fmt=18). uploading video at 768x480 with quality setting at x2.0 is much better (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jBTiNotb64&fmt=18)

Maybe he can try Xfire or even better upload the original uncompressed video somewhere or try H/X264.

EDIT: Oh you beat me to it. While XviD is nice, I like H/X264 better. I've been comparing file sizes and quality and if done right, it looks better (though too bad I know like 0 about encoding in it lol). Lossless video compression would be better but probably not realistic and I have no idea where to begin in that area.

Don't forget about fmt=35. I don't know why they don't use it more, it's right before HD. I think that BogusDudeGW has the best encodes so far, like check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAVhdcSbk3E&fmt=35 [35 quality] or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAVhdcSbk3E&fmt=22 [HD quality]. OP, maybe find out what he uses and emulate for similar results?

youtube (and the flash player in general) tends to like a vertical pixel count of 240, or its whole number multiples. videos with vertical resolution of X*240 tends to turn out a lot better than any other resolution.
