I was playing TA earlier and i never realised how crazy this skill is. Especially against good teams where the ranger will wait till you swap to your casterset.

Didn't notice it up till now, it really sucks when you're on like 22/35 energy for example when you suddenly get debshot after casting and go down to 9 energy.

You realized after 4+ years of the mechanic being unchanged?

Amazing.

Yes, it's a pretty good skill, but it needs the rest of the team to back up the pressure it's supposed to cause, else it's useless, especially considering the alternatives a ranger can carry that are also pretty amazing.

I've always considered Debilitating Shot as what the ranger's most powerful non-elite 'attack' should be (aside from dshot/savage shot) but unfortunately we have retarded skills like Sloth Hunter Shot, Keen Arrow etc which are not what the ranger should be about.

Not exactly unchanged, considering how everything deals more damage. There's more pressure overall on Monks and Debshot stayed the same, so the skill actually became relatively stronger, specially against a single Monk like in TA/RA, as the skill is better the more pressure your team manages to put up...

Worth of (another) nerf IMHO.

Note how I said the mechanic stayed unchanged.
That implies exactly what it says, the mechanic wasn't changed.

That everything else has developed in the meantime doesn't change the fact that only realizing it as being very good now is pretty amazing.

The thing is it can be blocked, which results in no energy loss, unlike hexes or spells.

But if i were to nerf it i would simply put the recharge to 15, therefore it is less spammable, resulting in less energy loss.

Well if you think about it, magehunter's shot rupts a skill, with a 5 recharge, which means that skill could be 5-10- even 15 or 25 energy, which results in that much energy loss AND interupting the skill

it was fine for 4 years, no reason for it to be worthy of elite status now. also it's not like it was(nor currently is) a must have skill on every Ranger bar, like Dshot is. also, Dshot has been argued to be worthy of elite status for a very long time now, not once have I seen the same argument for Deb Shot, so...

yes, it's a powerful skill, just like many other powerful skills that aren't elite status nor worthy of elite status...

I'm wondering how everyone is talking about 4 years and shit, don't you people really remember that it was even more powerful before?

For those who don't remember, it removed 10 energy, unspecced.

Good luck playing against NR/TR build with 3 rangers and all of those running Deb shot and you being boonprot.

Oh, and as edit after the history lesson. No need to change. One of those skills that if being spammed randomly, can be annoying even with proper swapping (tho, proper swapping greatly reduces the effectiveness of deb) but in hands of a good player becomes even better as of timing and targeting.

What the hell does the fact that Guild Wars is balanced around 8v8 have to do with the fact that Debil Shot is run in arenas? In case you hadn't noticed, this entire thread is pretty much TA oriented.

Change thread title to Dshot, and everyone will (should) agree.

Fact, even if Dshot was an elite, alot of people would still concider bringing it. (20S disabled > 10S From Magebane)
