Default How does this make sense?

This is completely retarded? How do these results make any sense at all? I beat the guy that got second who in turn beat the guy that gets first. Should I not be in first place? I didn't tie on purpose I got fuked by rubberbanding across the map, go figure, and get a tie.

Why do I have a deja-vu feeling about this?

And wasn't the answer to a similar thread that it depends on the rating of the opponents you beat?

Look at past few days, I have not tanked. Go to tourney guy right now and look at the tournaments, you can see same results.

I haven't tanked.

I understand that Anet wants to cut down on abusing ties. But Dome has a point, and this is pretty ridiculous.

Also his N/A rating is due to a bug that happened with his account name.

Another issue to bring about and DE brought to my attention because I forgot to mention is that if you are the last person without any losses and ALL wins in the final round of an AT you can forfeit and get 1st. Makes no sense.

Basically in the final round of an AT it's most profitable to forfeit your match. Wait what?

Yes, forfeiting will guarantee you first place. Entering the match automatically slims your chances of getting first.

When forfeiting a match is a better option than trying to win, there's a major problem with the system (ties aside).

Maybe you should have won that match instead of tying.

Is this what happened with the championships for the HB this June mAT?

wow i thought something was fishy with why in the hb finals everyone was running the most retarded hero combos and quit out before the match even started.

a lot of this really doesn't make sense. maybe anet needs to look at how others run tournaments to get a better grasp on how to do it in their own game.

Do I sense bias against hero battles? :P
Not that I like it, it's the most retarded format GW has, but OP might have a good point. Try messing with ratings in GvG, THEN there's gonna be screams :P

What i was trying to say is that you tanked in the past, don't tell me that those 41 losses and 2 victories giving you -160 rating in one day were normal... lol

Well yes you should by the old system of ties getting you 1 point but in the new system obviously not as your tie breaker is worse than the 2 people above you meaning they beat better opponents than you did.

No. Both players left before the match because usually that results in a tie (from what I understand). But because of it being the final match in the MAT, it awarded the win to the guy who left last.

It is either the guy that left last or the lower ranked guy. When people tied in the final round in the past it was the lower rank guy always wins.
