A video is multiple pictures in rapid succession. If you take enough during a match you will have enough for a legitimate ticket.

Too bad Anet has no Staff to take care of us anymore. GW1 is dead and I'll soon be giving up on it. I have a feeling I'm on my last few weeks of gaming. It's been 3++ years but I've finally had enough.

The things that ruined it:

Skill Nerf/Imbalance
Dishonorable System (forces good players to lose with bad players/abusers who falsely report others for leeching for any itch)
/report (abuse-candy for the above losers/abusers)
botters (PvE/PvP; what's the point if not to play and enjoy?!)
1337ists (ruin the concept of gaming.. to have FUN, not win-win-win! or rage-rage-rage! games are not meant to be serious)
Titles (I actually thought titles were kewl until players started using them negatively for group/party acceptances, taunting, talking down to negatively and in demeaning fashion, etc.. and Anet supports this?!?!)
GM/Dev/Staff inactivity (This is a BIG one! Without them, there is no order or justice carried out at all! They are the LAW when it comes to gaming and the regulation, equality & justice thereof; they've shown a drastic inactivity level in these recent months)

You would think having everyone pointing out these same individuals over and over again that they are botting should be a valid proof. That was the reason why they gave the option of /reporting botters in the first place, no? What other way does /report botters work then? It almost seems that they implemented it without actually having tangible use to it.

Isn't that how they advertised /report leeching? If 2-3 members reported someone for leeching, that player gets Dishonorable and after collecting a good amount is unable to join for a good time.

Why not implement the same thing for botting? How many people would actually report someone who isn't actually botting? Definitely no where as close as the number of /reports for the actual botters.

bottom line:
/report botting for a player. similar to the advertised /report leeching. If player receives enough /report, is unable to join a game for 10 minutes. If persists, the 10 minute timer increments. This way, it requires very little work from GM's. If /report leeching works as advertised currently, it wouldn't be very hard to make /report botting do the same thing.

I once got /reported for botting by somebody. I had to spend the next three matches explaining to them that I was c-spacing because it's easier to do that while you're on MSN than to actually play.

Also, I'm pretty sure that you're not supposed to be posting people's IGNs/screenshots of them like that.

Also, Anet's stated multiple times that they only have two people working on GW full time. I would guess that content updates take precedence over a few people farming a title in RA with bots.

Also, RA very serious business.

For those that don't know: Botting is unacceptable and punishable by 'permanent banning' under the EULA. It's cheating!and too many players stupidly accept this, saying things like, "Well, the bot plays better than most players!" Yet, they fail to realize or understand that at least those bad players actually 'TRY'. Botters don't try and are probably out at the beach, are in school, bed, etc.. while the rest ARE; they're playing hard and actually 'EARNING' their titles.

Rufai Strife's been around, botting, doesn't even change his name every now and again. He even sets himself away while actively engaged in afk RA-farming using and AoE Searing Flames ele for area-wide damage, resulting in what he/she hopes will be easy wins. Too many other players permit it, don't report it and often report those that DO report botters. It's plain childish and immature! No justice has taken place DESPITE having reported these things to the Dev's themselves, directly!

It's sickening and it's killing all meaning in gaming! Now all we need is HA/GvG teams of nothing but bots for afk fame and champ points! Anet needs to get on the ball and deliver justice!

I actually like a lot of the changes to skills that have come over time. I feel like the overall game play and balance has improved since I started playing.

I like the reporting system and I have seen a big drop in leechers esp in FA since it started. I've never had a problem with getting reported for stuff wrongly, I suspect the problem might be you.

I got banned one day a few years ago when a-net banned a bunch of accounts wrongly all at once. After contacting a-net my account was restored. The problem was the overall time my client was running in a given time period. A few other people in my guild were banend as well that day.

I was accused of being a bot the other day in RA while playing a P/R beastmaster by a mesmer who was dead after his team lost the match. I figured he was just pissed because he lost.

I've never seen anyone I thought was a bot in RA but there are some god awful players out there. Most are people without much experience.

There was a time when elona reach and grotto were constantly populated with multiple districts of bots. Those days are long gone and I havent' noticed a major bot problem in pve recently.

I agree, I usually figure those people are just middle and highschool boys who are immature. thats not really the fault of anet, and I feel like Guild Wars has a much nicer population then many other games.

Fame has been used for party discrimination for a long long long time. Your hero rank shows how much experience you have in HA. When I first started HA I didn't know very much about how to play HA. Over time I gained more experience and started to enjoy playing with other people that were as experienced as I.

If you want to play HA join a guild that does HA and is willing to help you learn

I think that the GW devs have been doing a lot to keep the game fun while we await GW2. I like the skill updates because they spice things up and make new builds possible instead of being stuck with the same boring meta forever. They have continued to update content, hold events, and upgrade the game even though there are no more new chapters to sell.

Blizz has spent ~$200 million on WoW and it's expansions since it was released. Blizz gets ~$100 million a month from subscription fees. FFXI charges you an extra dollar per toon per month, deletes your toons after 3 monts of inactivity, and generally sucks monkey while the most fun online RPG I've ever tried: Guild Wars remains subscription free and also fun for me to play.

Basically I completely disagree with you.

cheers!

Too many skills to list that're fubar'd. They've shown their clear and ultimate lack of interest in balance when they 25e/90r'd smiter's boon! I do understand that OP'dness must be controlled, but at the expense of completely wiping out skills like this one? PLEASE! Explain why YOU think balance has 'improved' and state some (viable) examples.

Reporting system fails. It's entrusting abusive children with absolutely NO sound (and/or) moral judgement to take care of inducing automated punishment to supposed 'violators'. You probably seldom PvP in Random Arenas anyway, which would perfectly explain why you have absolutely NO problems with the /report and/or Dishonorable Combatant Systems.

Anet makes plenty of player-bashing decisions; that one's of no surprise to me. Glad you were patient with them; I guess it served you well to negate your own stress and anguish?

Quote:

Again, the /report system is entirely too abusable; this statement only further validates my point.

Quote:

Apperently you don't game in Random Arenas enough (and/or) have a hard time identifying the characteristics of botters; perhaps you have a lack of interest or are apathetic about them thereof.

Quote:

That's an awesome fact. I hope this outcome has remained concurrent! I hate botters.

I never said it's Anet's fault for their being this way. I merely imply that the /report function be taken away from the hands of children; either this or rework it so that abuse can be further mitigated for the sake of the loyal, avid and true GWars fans (and mainly the RA Community, whom suffer the most from it).

That's good on ya.

I need not help learning; I know just about everything I need to know to win. I was merely stating that titles have been used in every negative way (and the Community will remain doing so as it is an undying evil with no depth nor end). Basically, I just stated the obvious for everyone's awareness.

I do agree and accredit Anet for all the positive contributions/updates they've made. Sadly however (and due to lack of manpower it seems), so many skills are left broken, nerfed into oblivion, etc.. and have further killed innovation to the point where there're only a select number of viable builds left to run and anything else would only be less effective.

I do agree that Anet is awesome for allowing free gaming. It's sad that other online MMORPGs are pay-to-play and delete characters after inactivity. But hey! They players are the dummies for paying, so..

"rawr! I R Gladiator!"

Lol.

Sorry, but if these bots could get r4 Gladiator, maybe its time to try another PvP. Most decent PvPers don't respect RA anyways.

ANet isn't going to do anything.

I'm honestly suprised nothing's been done yet; these are blatant bots chillin on the same account for weeks now. Farm bots are a different story, they typically cycle through accounts and are thus harder to track and eliminate.

What exactly is Anet's excuse on this one?

Someone find me this botting program so I can get to the next rank, I mean, there's absolutely no risk and no matter how many people report me nobody's going to ban me, right?

Oooooooh RA is such a happy place.

@above - ANet's excuse is that they're not bots. Believe it or not. These people run the exact same bars and do the exact same thing (cast Liquid Flame first, then Glowing Gaze, then Tenai's Heat, then Searing Flames, yea yea) and they're not bots. Sorry. Game logs prove they're not bots.

My point, exactly! Is Anet in support of these cheating assholes? Do they have their hidden approval by not being banned? What gives? I could wipe my ass with the EULA as that's the only function it's serving!

Who cares what rank you are?

Rank doesn't get you into good groups, friends do. Apart from faction cap, pvp titles have no effect on you.

So easy to see it your way. Cheating is CHEATING!!!! Breaking EULA is BREAKING E-U-L-A! It NEEDS to be addressed! Principles are of utmost value (no matter if this is just a game or not). If the game laws aren't enforced, cheaters flourish and the good people go under. Do you find botting to be acceptable? Titles or not, cheating = cheating = breaking rules = violating EULA = F***ING CHEATING! (excuse my french). Do you understand nao?!

It really does not affect you...

If Anet sorts it out, fine - but i don't want them wasting time and resources on it when they could be doing more productive things.

Also: If you have ever sworn or spammed any sort of chat you should be banned too according to the EULA.

This because it's just a title, and the evidence in this thread basically can apply to almost any ele in RA (which makes me sad...)

They're probably bots, but ANet would blanket ban because they don't have the resources, and blanket bans = bad in this case.

And I have been, yet the same botters/cheaters continue to linger in RA. They've been there for months and have rank 4 gladiator or greater, now. They probably sell their z-keys for RL money, too. All with NO HANDS! They're prolly somewhere out on the beach, at the mall, eating dinner or asleep while the rest of the teammates are actually at their computers, engaged and playing hard for their glad/faction.

It's.. just.. SAD, really!

So they are out having a life and accomplishing more than you in this game at the same time? Sounds like someone is jealous.
