Since the nerf to FF a few builds popped out:
- hexway based on fevered dreams, lc necro and and r/d
- hammer war, ranger, derv blinder, pnh monk

Not really, bring balanced stance and sit on 40/40(yes i know no shieldset but you can't keep people up otherwise). More often than not the monk dies but everyone else just finishes off the ele's.

I really haven't lost to that that I can remember. Monk hits balanced stance and spams woh and I keep one or more on the ground. Easy wins, but monotonous to play against.

I'd look at general spikeway (rtl, ion cannon, mind blast etc.) the ability to organise your own team and co-ordinate your moves between eachother. I've faced teams that spike down my party members one by one with smooth precision and co-ordination. Heck I've seen eles with starburst and a war with shove and 3 monks with stonesoul strike holy strike. It only takes organisation.

Lol gothspiek.

Seriously, if you have a decent ranger dshotting shove means they don't kill anything. Even if you have a bad ranger dshotting the crushing blow will usually be enough to stop a spike just short of a kill.

As others mentioned RTL is pretty easy to win against, especially with a not braindead ranger. Variations on 3mb eles are annoying, but monkstomping usually wins the round if you have no way of pushing kills through distortion. That build isn't really much of a spike so much as a lot of pressure. Don't know how you'd consider Jebusbeam a spike, also don't really know how you lose to a team running it.

I'd like to see a(nother) small hit to LC, a hit to soulbind (it's inevitable replacement) and a big hit to mantra of resolve to make hexgay require the tiniest bit of thought. Signet of humility is balanced around it's cast time and vulnerability to interrupt. Resolve completely destroys that balance and makes for a pretty unfun match.

Distortion eles get seriously shafted by pets (provided you actually use pets). Lock pet on ele, and his energy will run dry like mad ^^. Monk wanding them also helps a lot.

Yesterday I saw this team (but I do not remember if it was with a ranger or mesmer). It was quite good I think. Do you have the builds of it?

Yesterday you probably saw a variation of that team with a sword warrior:
Warrior: standard cripslash
Ranger: BHA with pious concentration (it is needed to prevent the opposing ranger to dshot your bha)
eda
monk: I saw RC with mendtouch

You can even swap the ranger for a mesmer with fragility, shrinking armor and fevered dreams, but then you would probably like to run a dervish or r/d with wounding strike. To be honest I prefer the version with the ranger: distruption in team arenas is always good, even if only for rez control. The ranger has better survivability too, compared to a mesmer.

Nice I think I will get a try to this team

Edit: do you think the hammer version could be better?

Considering daze sword is a lot better imho. You can cripple the guy who absorbs conditions daze him and frenzy in his face.

A build with quivering blade then, not the standard cripslash

Shove spike is now unstoppable. The RC monk brings Aegis, which they use on the warrior during spikes to make it impossible to D shot shove.

The only way to stop a good gothway is to have your R/Me bring cry of frustration to stop their spikes and to have your warrior gain enough adrenaline to Rush -> bulls in the hopes that you can eventually train down a monk.

^truth

Gothspike has always been lame. Now it's OP and needs a nerf.

Anyways...

Other current meta:

Hexway kinda falling out due to E/me MBway, but still around and still able to lame its way to 10.

E/me MBway in full force. loses to good magebane with balanced.

Balanced still hanging, but loses to goth.

RTL spike can beat goth, but loses horribly to balanced if the Ranger is decent.

Lameway still around in some forms, has an advantage over balanced. Loses to E/me mbway.

TA is basically rock paper scissors.
