Also, Spirit Bond is kind of overkill imo.
The only way an unblockable rofl sin can kill if is if he has 2 other guys doing nothing but training your target with dps. There are no excuses for not wiping such an inflexible team. and while spirit bond is overkill, it generally prots 80% of the damage the sin and his buddies do to you in the time it takes for the sin to run out of gas (also spirit bond isn't barely build wars, there are a ton of "spike" builds and MB pressure way gets 50% of its damage proted), once the crit defense drops after 10 seconds worth of kiting the sin is backlinable, but in generally that wouldn't be needed anyway because you should have already killed at least someone. Unless your also training their monk and in which case you are better off flipping a coin then expecting to win.

Why the hell would you suggest countering a SA sin with spirit bond?

Sin attacks are generally fast enough that it's impossible to cancel in time. You see an attack, hit shield bash midattack, and 99.9999999999% of the time the sin won't be able to cancel it. If you actually find a sin that can do that, let me know.

So what can an arena monk do to minimize the damage WITHOUT other help. The damage and kd from HotO/Trampling is just too much, and if they have a Mind Blast or a hammer war that quarter knocks you you are done.
If you're dealing with horns or trampling, then guardian works. He'd only be able to hit the golden-wild part consistently. You're not expected to be able to tank their whole team. Sure, you can't count on your team helping you, but your job isn't to have an invinci-build that can handle 3-4 offensive characters without any problems. You can take fire/piercing shields against fire eles/sins, but there's nothing much you can do as an individual. People forget RA is a team game too, and if you get terrible teams then you're going to lose regardless.

I'm not 100% up to speed with the RA metagame but the old SA sins had rush, which could be kept up 100% of the time for no cost making kiting pointless. Hitting 1-2-3 over and over with an unblockable combo that does fairly high damage and strips enchants is the epitome of retarded button smashing. There's really no way to defend its existence except maybe as a counter to equally stupid builds such as mind blast and EDA that stack enchants.

ok bobby i made it clear already can't you read

that i always kite, you can't rly help it when you get trampled or hoto'd after your balanced is stripped. Guardian can only do soo much the repeating golden fox and wild strike does add up the damage.

Throw up balanced after wild strike and then the rest of his chain is pretty much useless. While this is happening kite backwards and pull the sin away from the rest of his team so the rest of your team should finish him off relatively quickly.

I admit SA sins are overpowered when you're getting trained by a hammer warrior for example but GW is a team game, if their team is better than yours it's just sometimes not possible to pull your team through.

Assassin is one of the better designed professions in the game. Unfortunately bad monks’, and more generally bad players’ QQing has lead to overnerfing them out of any usefulness. What needs to be nerfed out of the game is the monk profession. There can be good teams without any single one of the other 9 professions of the game, why shouldn’t it be possible to have a team without monks? But, since that will never happen (see QQing above) warrior stances should be made unavailable to monks and useful to warriors once again, these are warrior skills anyway. Monks’ efficiency must be severely toned down, and monks should die easier. Buff other professions' healing and protting efficiency if need be.

I'm not defending its existence, the Shattersin build can die for all I care. They still pack Rush btw, but usually no IAS of any kind - labeling it 'fairly high damage' is an overstatement. If it's just you and that Sin, you could easily outheal everything he does.

Unfortunately Horns and Trampling are both dual attacks. Guardian's chance of catching both of those is only 25%. Even a 75% stance only has about a 43% chance to block both of hits of horns and trampling.

It's not amazing on its own, but the bonus damage from golden fox, wild strike and SA is decent, plus they have critical eye which ups their critical hit rate. The point is to wear down a monk because spamming WoH and patient can only go on for so long.

My immediate thought was the dual SA gimmick in TA where they could be buffed up to to SA doing over 100 dmg per hit.

Yes I do you happy Bobby?
My point is there is only so much you can do while getting trained by 4 people.

Wild strike kills your balanced -> Hammer warrior quarter knocks you -> WTF dumphexes -> MB or RTL shocks or meteors

Live through that I give you a cookie.

Uh so OP ends up complaining about getting trained by 4 people.

Does anyone see the issue here?

@ Masamune it's not hard to dodge SB as long as you're watching the enemy skill status [which you SHOULD be doing]. Just step back.

aksing for nerfs/buffs because a monk can't solely defend himself against 4 dmg-dealers is almost as bad as aksing for nerfs/buffs because a war can't solely kill 4 healers...

The golden phoenix+wild strike+shattering assault (the rest of "unblockable" builds should not really be argued about, because they do not really pose a serious problem that could not be dealt with) is still (kinda) decent for permanent non-blockable (apart from shield bash) damage input, but the times when it was really broken (dual smited sins with 2 monks, where the sins basicaly hit for >100 with their attack skills on a wand/staff set) are over, so no real need to start discussing the build again. It was not nerfed back then and it certainly will not be nerfed now.

Golden FOX.

Anyways your team is baed if it doesn't know to take out the sin if it's such a problem. Critdef shouldn't be a problem unless you're running a gimmick team and if you are, you shouldn't be whining.
With your assumptions about RA in place also there's no reason to whine about the sin. The sin's NOT THE PROBLEM.

This may be a bit off topic, but what exactly is the massive appeal behind Avatar of Lyssa dagger dervishes?
I might just not "get it", but it seems like a fairly dumb idea :/
