What format do you play? (RA, HA, TA, GvG)--

All but HB

In which tier (tier 1 - tier 10) do you feel you belong, respective to your format? (Tier 1 is highest, tier 10 is lowest)--

RA (I play it?), HA (5), TA (8), GvG (8). I'm not a terribad but I don't take this game incredibly seriously, that means plenty of RA / AB shenanigans, byob GvG and tombs gimmicks.

What are the most imbalanced skills/templates you feel need to be fixed, if any? Why are they imbalanced? (as in, these are so imbalanced they need to be fixed right away)--

GvG:

Mind Blast- Splitting needs to be viable but this is clearly overpowered. I would like to see more split skills buffed like troll, lion's comfort (unlike the last buff that was all shit) and NPCs made more valuable, but not as valuable as they were for VoD. There's been lots of ideas on how to better balance GvG tiebreaker mechanics and mechanics in general.

Fast Casters- I'm not sure if the FC effect needs a nerf, as a start it might be better to nerf drain delusions. Although there's plenty of other inspiration skills to power up the main skills, phantom / drain is just the easiest and also causes a little e-denial.

HA:

Tease Heroes (heroes in general) - Heroes should have their ability to interrupt be nerfed. It's not as bad as it was, a lot of the skills were indirectly nerfed but p-drain and drain enchant are too good for heroes.

IWAY - I still think prism is a little over the top, although again indirect nerfs to PwK and weapon spells have reduced their effectiveness. Battle Rage is also a little ridiculous.

Necros in general - I admit I've got most of my fame with various necro gimmicks (not blood spike!), but I'm also keenly aware of how retarded tab hexing is. Soul Bind and LC are still a little too strong imo, along with faint and rip enchant. To a lesser extent tox necros but you don't see much of that anymore.

BB sins - Been nerfed multiple times and yet it's still here, at least it takes a modicum of skill to play though.

Mathway / SFway - This is easily the most degenerate crap imaginable, even worse than blood spam. Searing flames just needs to be gone, I thought the SH nerf could have gone further but whatever. It's beyond depressing how many teams (and guilds) run this during American times.


What do you feel are the most balanced skills/templates, if any?--


Rangers - Minus lightning reflexes the generic ranger template (savage, d-shot, natty, poison, mend touch, elite, utility skill) finally seems to be fairly balanced. Mel shot still overshadows every other elite bow attack (except in TA), but so did crip back in the day.

Whirling Axe / Coward / Cripslash / Dev hammer - I like all these templates for warriors. In regard to the post evisce-axe metagame though, I'd like to see better synergy with 5 adrenaline attacks used with dismember. That would entail making whirling axe and cleave 5 adrenaline skills with a bit more damage. That doesn't mean you hit the skills every time they light up but you've got to have some burst damage.

Prot monks - I like the variety here between RC, LS and PnH. You could argue PnH and LS are bad because they "broke" prior game mechanics (1s cast for hex removals, 3/4s cast for condition removals), but people also clamored for utility skills on monk.

Rits - Rit skills are still far from being balanced, but I give credit to anet for finally giving primary rits a tangible advantage over secondary rits with the changes to weapon spells and spawning power.

Ha(1-2)

In order for Ha to be fixed at all. Bb sins need to be gone, Sf needs a Hard nerf. LIke Half Dmg. R spike. Needs to be gone. Smiters Gone. In my opinion. Honorable balanced should be the most effective team BY FAR is ha has any change of being balanced. But now. ha is run by bb sins. Gimmics. And terrible random players thinking their the best in the game (Adam). ALso Bye bye Hexway. Insidious over powered, Taint overpowered, Vor Backfire, and mostly Soul Bind

What do you feel are the most balanced skills/templates, if any?--

Rangers need less block skills. And Lightening Reflexes/Whirling defnse should be removed if they get hexes. Hexes should all be half duration and doulbe cast time, Pvp only. Bb needs to just plain not knockdown for 4 seconds. Rangers. Should never go 80-80 with one attack. Weapons need to become enchants. A weapon hex developed that they can not be target of weapons and they have no effect. Coward needs to have a 50% fail. Honesly 2 coward wars shut down a whole team. Sf half dmg go go

tier 4-5 Have some top 300 experience

What are the most imbalanced skills/templates you feel need to be fixed, if any? Why are they imbalanced?
Mind Blast for obvious reason.
The Sin deadly arts line could use some rework.
Golden Fox -> Wild Strike chain.

What do you feel are the most balanced skills/templates, if any? Why are they balanced? (as in, if game mechanics were not to change, skills/templates should remain around this particular power level)

The New Aegis is awesome. The prot line is extremely balanced.

Suggested nerfs or nerfing of one build makes other gimmicks indirectly more powerful.

Anyways I play HA: Prob at an average level (5)

HA: needs more players and more build variety, it keeps everything in check.

I would be sad to see Heroes removed, I would be sad to see Searing Flames, etc.. nerfed, Prism, Rit heals, all of these things contribute to build variety which is GOOD for HA

If I had to play mirror matches every match with the current balance build and go 30min matches I would uninstall.

Anyways on topic, Paragons give me my biggest problems, luckily not many people use it currently, but if some of the "OP" stuff in HA gets toned down I imagine they will crop up and we will be having 30 min matches again.

BTW I play in American timezone and getting a full run is near impossible, so when I have to play a 30 min match its almost always for 1-3 fame, I dont play for fame but many others do and its contributing to the inactivity in HA because the rewards arent worth it for a lot of players.

For future reference, define tiers better, half the people here claim to be tier 2 GvGers yet I've never even heard of them..

Mind Blast template - For both E/D and E/Me, the secondary skills are fine since Distortion doesn't really see any use besides this template. But Mind Blast shouldn't be able to fuel Distortion 80% of the time with little to no energy problems. For the E/D, it seems kind of stupid that the only way to snare them is with a hex, which makes collapsing on a split difficult without Freezing Gust or the MoI ele. But the E/Me is definitely more broken than the E/D imo. Aura of Resto not giving back energy, one or two seconds added to Distortion's recharge, or less energy given back from Mind Blast would tone it down without completely removing the template.

What are some pretty imbalanced skills/templates that you feel need to be fixed, if any? Why are they imbalanced? (these are less imbalanced than those mentioned in the question above, but still not healthy for the game)

Mantra of Resolve and other stances are annoying, but things like Wild Throw and Whirling Axe make it somewhat manageable (not saying it makes them balanced). As someone said before, if they made the stances more active instead of a "oh shit" button, they would probably be pretty balanced.

Dom mesmers (not VoR), Rangers, Shock Axe, and RC monks.

I automatically assumed 10 was highest and 1 was lowest, which would seem logical on a 1-10 scale except tiers begin at 1. It doesn't even make sense to begin with because "top tier" gaming is ostensibly associated with players who make money doing it and since this game has no money tournaments, no one is a top tier player.

You completely missed the point.

Everyone here was able to figure out "Tier1" is the highest and "Tier 10" is the lowest. The problem arises when you try and determine what actually qualifies as being a Tier 1 player? What is a Tier 2, 3, 4 etc player? Is top 200 tier 3, 4 or 5? Who knows?

Anyway, here's how I see it:

Tier 1: Top 10 - 20
Tier 2: Top 50
Tier 3: Top 100
Tier 4: Top 300
etc

Even thinking about it though it's hard to come up with reasonable sounding Tiers. I mean Top 100 to me sounds like reasonably high level play but to call it Tier 3 sounds fairly average.

A much simpler system would have just been to state what rank GvG you normally play at, or what HA rank you have etc.
