Although stances will still be used as they can be activated when knocked down and provide block, it doesn't stop AoS being grossly overpowered. On top of this it is also in fact bugged. It states it applies weakness to 'adjacent foes', however it applies it to those 'nearby'.

The update yesterday was supposed to fix that. Don't know if it did or not.

I thought stances being activated while KD'd was already lame enough.

But even with the dev hammer chain in RA i only do like 50 dmg to the monks because of +armor + blessed insigs + weakness.

not worth trying to remove with 5 sec recharge. I just hope the others can pressure him enough and I have to KD at perfect time.

I agree, with armor of sanctity, you almost always take less than 10 damage, if not 0. and with its low energy cost, activation, and recharge, its spammable to not only make yourself live for a much longer time, but your team cause of weakness spam.

I would say you can easily put this skill back to place compared to other earth prayer skills with a lil nerf, Either:

1) 10 energy, 1 second activation, 5 recharge

2) 5 energy, 1 second activation, 12 recharge

3) Revert back to original (take out weakness) and increase duration to 20 seconds at 15 earth prayers

Even with that, it still would be a favored skill for earth prayers...

Make it mysticism or up recharge/cost to 10 if it's that much of a problem, it's essentially a fast casting stoneflesh. Making it a 1 second activation would pretty much cut it's use back to 0.

Well there's a bit of mindgaming when you can click away from the monk once or twice and draw out the AoS which is now correctly the smallest radius aoe. Though it would be better with a higher risk to the reward like longer recharge (less throwaway) or adding a conditional like those air spells that KD adjacent enemies if they're attacking.

It does become more of a problem skill in larger teamsize formats where you can more reliably get cheap conditions thrown on melee enemies so just the enchantment gets stronger, but those formats also make it less useful when you can be killed in a single KD timeframe.

In the smaller formats the skill is also a problem because of the fewer condition removal skills. When the opposing team runs 2 copies of this it becomes almost impossible to be dealt with. A longer recharge or an higher cast time would probably make the skill less retarded.

I think it's very strong, but I don't think it's ridiculously overpowered by itself. In typical builds, I find it kind of lacking as a stance alternative. However, I can envision setups in which it sanitizes damage altogether. Given the very stand-oriented rotation, a hex or condition build using disease or multiple rangers could be very strong, but you'd have to give up secondaries for it. Also, it can suck versus directional spikes because the activation can be fatal.

as a monk, in RA particularly, this is godmode, reduces practically all the dps of pretty much any melee to something vigs can clean., it can however go wrong. quarterknocked/chopped etc. not nearly as reliable as stance protection (or dolyak), although provides a nice alternative, since a lot of teams will have stance removal. also offers viritually no protection vs caster damage... mb spam -.-

As a warrior you either HAVE to knock it/chop it/take it out, or your doing 0 dps for the next 10 seconds at least, the weakness kills your damge even if the enchant is stripped.

as an ele... great, hit meteor and rodgorts and unleash your whole bar on him...cos hes got nothing to stop you knocking or whatever.

i would really like to see a recharge longe than the weakness duration... as it stands, its just too efficient at shutting melee down

Seen some new Wastrel's Collapse builds? There are some sins that actually know what they're doing (they are rare, lol but good players abusing lame builds do show up), they wait for an aftercast and KD you no matter how much you try to spam.

just pressure 3 other targets on the monks team...considering its ra / ta most cannot keep up especially if you got 2 wars , paired with a ranger spamming deb shot its gg anyways mo/d is overrated, vulnerable to kds, 1 dev hammer knocklock and its over, what is overpowered is vow of piety, kept up indefinitely with armor of sanctity, eles hitting 20 damage mindblasts

Pretty seriously annoying, a bit overpowered, probably a poorly thought out buff, I don't like constantly hitting for 0s.

Nerf it please.

It's going to end up being one of those builds where you have to kill the monk's entire team before you can get through his defensive skills.

I agree that going /W is safer, like I said if you're positioning etc isn't great then definitely /W is better. However the amount of Warriors that take shadow steps in RA really is minimal, so that's not enough to encourage me to take balanced stance.

Wastrels Collapse is a slightly bigger problem, however as far as I'm aware the KD lock comes towards the start of the combo, so you should ideally have a fair bit of health by the time you stand up, Sin KD chains only last for 4 seconds as well, opposed to Warrior knock locks which last 6 seconds, so again for those reasons I still think /D is the better option, Providing you know what you're doing that is.
