Default RPs and getting a bye first round in AT.

the following scenario happened recently.

3 guild members and an officer formed and registered for snowball AT. they were on vent with 4 additional guild members who wanted to come, but had to finish some activity. they were going to come and complete the 8 man team when the guild was in the join stage for the 1st match.

fortunately, the guild got a bye the first round, so the 4 members that weren't in the GH had more time to finish their activity. they made it for the 2nd round with ease.

the 8 players finished the tournament together.

the interesting part is only the 4 original members in the GH got RPs.

normally, whoever is in the party when JOIN is first clicked will receive RPs. but in the case of a bye, there is no chance to click JOIN.

so when do the players' accounts become registered into the tournie? its not related to the 2nd match, as the above players didn't get RPs for joining in 2nd match. so they had to be part of the team at a certain time to have their accounts registered for the RPs. but time was that?

On the other hand, what if there were 2 teams in the guild hall that both meet the reqs for an AT? if your guild gets a bye, there is no option to join the match to effectively discriminate the two teams. so which 8 players become registered for RPs? or do all 16 players register? or does gw explode?

anyone else had experience with this paradox?

I do not know the answer to the problem of the two valid teams.

As for registration of players, I always thought it was whatever eight players were in the team when the registration period expires.

It should be the first group that clicked join at the start of the 2nd round. Are you sure the 4 original people didn't just click join before the other four was in the party at the start of the second round?

Yeah, it should be whoever was in the party that joined the conclusive time before entering.
Anything else would be an anomaly.
