The reason it stays deep in kurzick territory is because butthurt teenagers with tormented weapons can't handle losing. Somewhere along the road a perception of the luxons being better and winning more than the kurzicks developed. So all the aforementioned willies went luxon and the sides were even more skewed. On the other hand there seems to be a constant stream of total asshats entering AB on the kurzick side. I guess pve just makes people more prone to choose kurzick or something. This isn't exactly a scientific study, but my impression is that standing in the outpost as kurzick I count a wide majority of players with pve titles or non-impressive pvp titles. On the luxon side you notice a lot more balanced teams and players from the same guilds and alliances. (Everyone knows this, this is uncontroversial)

As long as people are obsessing with winning or being on the team with the largest share of tormented weapons this problem isn't likely to correct itself. On the other hand the AB playerbase is small enough for a single guild or alliance to make a difference. A scrub alliance already did this(went kurzick that is), and there was no end to their showing of pride here on the forums when they managed to push the border. I will admit I was impressed by their dedication and effort to revigorate AB. But I guess they wimped out for after a week they were again luxon. The same guys now choose to sync AB from the luxon side.. Yeah, this is user made - enjoy yourselves and stop whining.
Awww don't be like that we didn't wimp out per se. We just got tired of being forced to play with these so-called butthurt teenagers with torm weapons.

Kurz teams seem more random. This is also because the chance of winning on Ancestral is higher with random teams for Kurz. As long as this 'strategy' works 50% or somewhat more teams will be random. When the map is on far Lux side Lux has the same kind of problem.

Lol what?

While it is true that kurz have an advantage on Ancestral it doesn't mean they win more. Why do you think we live in Ancestral? Its because they lose more than they win so clearly random teams don't work.

Also, if the random team/s do happen to win it will be because they have been carried by a better team or that the lux players were worse than the kurz.

Its really no wonder why anyone with half a brain decides to play on Lux side when the mentality of the average kurz player is that of a 3 year old. They don't take monks or form a team with any kind of balance, they never stay with groups they have formed and often charge at teams/shrines solo and die within less than 10 secs, they challenge people to 1 v 1s and will waste the entire match chasing and dying to the same person/team, of course these same things happen on the Lux side too but to a lesser extent.

When the alliance that was mentioned previously switched to Kurz side and we got to see Luxon maps it was great, but as soon as the majority of that alliance was offline or a massive effort wasn't being made to switch map it was straight back to lands. So despite those guys trying their hardest it just wasn't enough, the rest of the idiotic Kurz made sure we went straight back to lands. I'm not surprised they switched back as I'm sure other people weren't either.

AB is getting more and more deserted and it seriously needs an over haul. The same maps are boring and I know a few people that have stopped AB'ing because of the lack of map rotation and also decent opposition.

And I'll say it to stop other people posting predictable replies, I know AB getting a re-vamp will never happen and yes dead game is dead.

Well, yes. Sync ftw. And you know why? Because I`m sick to lose runs just because allies are failing in some pro ways. Even if the map is Lands or Kaanai. Thats the main reason why we switched back to luxon side. As Hunni said, we was moving borders , but the rest was always to busy to move them back. I have nothing to say if I`m losing to a better enemy. Playing on kurzick side we lost many runs against Hunni`s team or against RUN boys or other guilds , I don`t remember them all. They was better and I have nothing to say. But when I`m losing because my allies literally didn`t exist, well, this thing is not nice. Also, thank God for /resign option.

Rumour has it that NASA is rebuilding on kurz side, hope so, might get beaten every once in a while. HELL we did 10 games on asslands today and won 9. I did meet a lot of balanced groups tho, so I never stop hoping, but their allies were dragging them down.

A good guild that likes to AB, our guild leader seems to know them, I personally don't. Well see how things work out.

You had a blast winning those 9 games? Interesting skirmishes, close and exciting games? And you know what happens to those balanced groups that beat you 4v4 but end up losing due to being kurzick? They disband in outpost in frustration or go luxon.

I'm glad you win the majority of your games. So do I, though. Played about 10 games as kurzick a couple of days ago and lost only 2 of them. 1 being against 2 synced teams and the other against 3 synced teams. I was with a pug(albeit a pretty good one) and no particular allied support to speak of, so it is possible to make an impact.

Why don't the lot of you grow a pair and man up to the fact that you can't expect to win 9 out of 10 games. Be honorable, stop syncing and go kurzick instead of gloating in the luxon outpost(or guru!) with a wikiteam and a tormented staff up your ass.

Wow dude take a chillpill. We rarely sync, and even then, Asslands is supposed to be lopsided in kurz favor so cba to make any kind of excuses imho. Usually we sync by accident. Im also perfectly allowed to gloat. Don't blame me for broken map rotation pl0x kkthxbai.

I'm to poor to buy tormented weps, I r pvp-er.

Was trying to say Id like to get beaten some moar, it makes shit more fun.

Sankt, that way of thinking will only return AB to its previous state, with failteams on both sides. Forcing the Kurzicks to form better teams is much healthier for the format in the long run (who knows, it might even get some respect some day).

Keep syncing.

Ah, here I was thinking you guys were unhappy with the lack of map rotation. Your crusade seems a worthy cause. You sacrifice good matches and map changes to actually teach the kurzicks something. How noble!

At bungus: If you pull the staff out slightly you may notice that I never said YOU synced. But I DO blame you for no map rotation. It's explained above, but you may need to remove that staff completely to grasp it. And if you mean what you say about wanting to get beaten moar you are welcome to join the dark side, kurzick come with a "get beaten moar"-guarantee.

And I have another thing to say about your petition to get anet to change the map rotation. Let's say they change it so that the map changes regardless of win percentage. Do you think it would make for an interesting game at Kaanai with 3 failteams attacking 3 synced teams? Yeah.

Imma go see Avatar now, you guys enjoy yourselves.

I'm not one of them, btw.

But yeah, I enjoy playing for Kurzick more than for Luxon, because the opposition is better. It all depends on what you expect out of a match - I already stated that as soon as I feel victory isn't worth fighting for, I urge to seek out the best opposing team for honorbattle. And as opposed to late TA, guild teams usually do run balanced, so it's actually enjoyable.

Enjoy your movie...

Luxons don't sync on Kaanai the same way Kurzicks don't sync on asslands.

Also, if the random team/s do happen to win it will be because they have been carried by a better team or that the lux players were worse than the kurz.
Let me explain what I ment.
When looking at the complete picture kurz fail massive and random teams don't work indeed.

However, now look from the individual PUG player on Ancestral.
On Kurz side they think they have advantage, so they think they don't need to have a decent team. And when lux are bad or the random team gets carried by one or two decent teams they will win matches once in a while.
Now go to luxon side. Players will soon realise that the map is in their disadvantage. Certain builds don't work at all. And chances of winning are lower than on kurz side.
This either forces such players to improve or, what also happens a lot, stops them from playing AB on Ancestral.

Just look at some of my guildies. In the past they would love to play AB once in a while, but because they almost refused to play on Ancestral because 'we cannot win there'. And instead of trying to improve they would wait for a map change. Same for people in the alliance, only a dedicated few would play on Ancestral. The moment people start playing for faction they are better of elsewhere nowadays, so that's also no reason to stay in AB once the map is on Ancestral.

This leaves a relatively low number of randoms on luxon side at Ancestral.
When I PUG there 3 out of 4 teams are decent by looking at the mix of professions. This says nothing about the actual match, here is where leadership comes in place and some PUG teams find it hard to follow orders or have a leader who's not giving orders.
And maybe I'm not seeing everything, I play monk so my team will never play a monkless team....

However, once the border moves more luxon players creep out of their caves and start playing because they think they have more chance of winning. The moment the map is on Kaanai you will encounter many random lux teams there.

How many of the 'bad' players on Kurz would still play AB if the map was on Kaanai for a couple of weeks? I think many will leave, just as happened on lux side for ages now.

Very little people on kurz side doesn't help much either, people will just grab whatever looks alive, even if that means teaming with meteor shower warriors.

I have a little question about the 'very little people'.

I would not mind fighting on Kurzick side. However, my guild is Luxon and I have no intention to leaving it (RL friends and several players I know since 2006).
This means as far as I know I need to find a guest invite every time just to fight on Kurz side.
And this does not allow me to drop my Kurz faction either, even at reduced rate or without alliance benefit.

Now suppose people could 'switch sides' easier, with perhaps a way of dropping faction at reduced rate. Would this attract more players to Kurz side? Or would this only make things worse, attracting more 'bad' players to Kurz side, Luxon people who only chose to play on Kurzick side because of the map advantage?

I have to admit, your guru personality is very strong and admirable(quite the contrary to your in-game personality from what I've seen).

I like the better opposition as well, once in a while you get a good skirmish out of it which makes up for having a few boring matches in between. Unlike late TA or the current codex. But the long waiting time as kurzick really dampens the experience.

I'm getting my posts deleted left and right and accumulating infraction posts for "not contributing", so to add something of real value to this thread let me say this:

You guys MUST go see Avatar in 3d. The story is absolutely frog but the effects and the feeling of going to another world is well worth it. It also comes with a not-so-well-hidden criticism of americans which really works for me.

Hehe, good one indeed. Now come join the dark side and help me subjugate the unworthy luxon syncalliance. From what I've seen they handle losing very badly.

We do actually play kurz every now and then, usually in dead hours when there's not enough teams to get in, so everyone at least gets to play. My hopes getting up more and more because today we got creamed BADLY by good kurz teams, butt still hurts from ownage and some tormented staff thats still stuck in there somewhere .

This isnt such a bad idea if u ask me, wonder if it's hard to code, but it would certainly revamp shit.
