merchants sell a 'rune of holding' for 500g that you apply to a bag to make it 10 slots.

i was in fa, hence why i had pd and not pb. lucky for many of the monks i dont bring p block because usually they do have soa, but i like pd there for being able to stop spirits, attacks, etc

Ok so I was tinkering around with it and found a solution to the space on the screen problem. Its not very elegant but it does save a hassle.

Just when you change gear you gotta either click or re-open your mission map so its on top.

Cripple is gud in AB with full disciples.

does seem interesting, dunno why i never thought to do that, although i cant do that now because i have everything situated on my screen that i could nearly play my interface with my eyes closed, and it would mess up my speed if i moved things around

i use this, and everything on the screen is there for a reason, so i cant move my map to cover stuff

Wouldn't you want cripple to last longer so you keep the ar bonus? Then if I need cripple off (badly) I just remove it.

Longer HP bars makes telling if somebody is below 50% a lot easier at a glance. Come to think of it, you could probably make a text mod on a 50%line.

Also I play in windowed mode so its easier to switch between GW and surfing the net during waits and stuff. And skype with my friends during fights ..... not that I do that.

Although now that you mention it, it may be excessively large.

you cant really tell in my screenie, but i do roll with texmod up all the time for the cleaner screen. the version i run has 25/50/75% lines on all the bars. when i was in a guild a while back, lucy suber had said that he uses the experience bar to mark the halfway point on his targets redbar.

I downloaded the texmod thingie for the 50% marker and used it for a while until I got used to being to tell with out it, so now I don't use it but it definately helped me.

Think I downloaded it from the official GW wiki if any one needs it.

I think I phrased my statement badly. I meant that [the condition] cripple is good to have, not the shield.

Let me guess, I should stop using shield sets to I can trigger SB, I can always swap back if it gets removed/ends.

from what i understood, the consensus of this thread was the debate between soa and shielding hands being more useful than spirit bond. therefore, with more armor, shielding hands/soa would be more useful. im pretty sure that was sarcasm with how you said it, but i wanted to clear it up anyway so someone who wasnt following the thread wouldnt be confused.

spirit bond is marginally useful in cases of monking for pugs where you cannot be sure your teammates are carrying the proper shields/insignias/knowledge on how to mitigate damage.

yes, having cripple on you is good if you are a monk with disciples insignias in a scrim, and you can easily remove it when you want to be mobile to move to the next shrine. i think the discussion on cripple shields came up when i mentioned the shields you should carry? i have cripple shields on every character from my gvg days, and its useful when you are on any class aside from monk with disciples. i often use it on warrior (with the -20% crip rune) to apply more pressure because i cant manually dodge every cripshot when the person is spamming on me and im attacking stuff. in general, a +10 v pierce is more useful when going against ps sins than -cripple.

on a side note, only one week till im back at school and ill be online again!

You missed the sarcastic point entirely. That question was asked by several players back when using +armor became much more commonplace, to the point that most hits were reduced to just below the 60 HP cutt off and SB triggered less. The answer that was responded with was under no circumstance should you want want to take more damage.

Cripple and Deep Wound are probably the two most overpowered conditions in the game. Cripple particularly makes a target far more vulnerable to melee's which are the big damage dealing characters. Under no circumstance should you want to be crippled, which is what the posters above have suggested.

Should you remove cripple absolutely first thing? Usually not, the entire goal of monking is to quickly and accurately respond to threats, you remove it when its the thing that is hurting the team the most.

If you can prekite, then crip rune + crip shield will easily let you dodge the KD from trampling. I hardly ever use my crip shield, but this is a case where it has the most benefit (second second benefit, first being with featherfoot on burning isle).

I feel sorry for anyone following this thread for advice. It is being dominated by a hivemind that rages at the mention of something even a little different because there is only my way to play the game, even in AB where it really doesn't take much to win, nor does it take much to be one of the best players, you must play the game my way. Anyone taking advice from the consensus of this thread will end up another "Monk LFG," sees anything that isn't exactly what he would have, call everyone noobs, rage, "Monk LF NON-NOOB group" (because adding non-noob helps screen them out).

i was aware that it was sarcasm. also, i have been in favor of as much armor as possible and reducing the damage as much as you can no matter what. my opinions can be found in any thread discussing the 'spirit bond argument'.

prekiting is always a smart tactical move. people use balanced stance to help monks deal with the kds and negate criticals. and its always a good idea to use a crip shield when moving through lava on burning isle, even without featherfoot.
