pretty much this ^^. That;s why Draw + Melandru's + Disciple's armour = win.

Draw is the best skill for removing conditions. Period. If you want some additional utility (like not having a deep wound on yourself afterward), look elsewhere. But if you just want conditions to not be on someone else, bring Draw. This is particularly effective in RA as:

-the other team will not exploit you drawing deep wound, or even daze.
-your physicals will not be good enough to interrupt/play around blinds/cripple/weakness (although they are also frequently not good enough to take advantage of being clean all game)
-the added utility of other removals--generally redbar--is completely unnecessary unless you're playing not-WoH.

I design my playstyle to beat bad player and just shrug off losses against good players. Please give more reasons why draw is the best skill; that is more reasons that involves the people I'm playing against being bad.

Even baddies are quite capable of mashing shit like bsurge on recharge.

Mash draw on melee every 4 seconds. Okay awesome. Any more tips to help me beat bad players?

Don't bother with tips on beating good players, since we'll just lose to them anyway, only bad players.

On the other hand, you probably should pick skills based upon your teammates being bad.

You pick monk to carry people being bad, that should suffice.

You're playing in post-district-merge RA; what good players?

I know guild wars is going downhill, the playerbase isn't what it used to be, and so many people seem to think of everyone else as being bad.

But really?

Gets nasty vs heavy condis with an ench strip necro or against a team that actually semi-spikes, but it's usually enough to beat anything.
I still bring draw conditions. If the other team has blind spam, it will own you.

My RA Monk bar:

Heal = 12+1+2
Divine = 9+1
Tactics = 9 (since I still don't have a req 7, 15 AL Shield...somebody sell me one!)
Protection = 3

Shield Bash
Word of Healing
Patient Spirit
Draw Conditions
Vigorous Spirit
Cure Hex
Signet of Rejuvenation
Balanced Stance

Troll detected.

Anyways you don't really DIE to conditions. Sure daze kinda sucks, but you aren't going to be able to remove it with dismiss or mending touch anyway, so that's kind of a mute point. poison spread does pressure, but with vig spirit and/or sig of rejuv on your bar that shouldn't be a problem, either. I guess a decent cripslash warrior or wounding strike derv could potentially slop enough conditions around to give you some hastle, but not if you receive any sort of linebacking or midline support whatsoever.

but yeah hexes are alot more dangerous

vig spirit is hard to maintain under pressure, especially if you are trying to juggle veils and shit. also dw does kill =P but yeah, hexes are brutal compared to condis, and since every second team in RA has a necro you don't even have to worry about them as a mo.

btw i think someone said return+mt is good? 10 energy for a condi removal that's definitely going to be interruted, ya very good.

In low end arenas you can get away with it. You obviously wouldn't run it in any serious PvP.

sorry i thought it was in this thread for some reason and forgot context, but ya in RA you will still run into semi-decent players who will punish you for doing that. the others it doesn't really matter what u run though

I haven't played RA for ages. So I can't really tell. Should have tried it again before posting.

But I totally agree it's not the best combo out there. I remember once in AB not paying attention and Returning right into some nasty AoE. With excellent results! Not for me.

Hexes are more dangerous when they are happening, but in my experience in RA people are a bit more likely to condition spam. Like I said earlier, it depends on the day. Virulence is common, crippling skills are common, deep wound is common, and the other night I faced 3 different daze teams in a row. Purge Conditions (keep Dismiss for common removal) is great for most of these. In theory it's a great choice for Daze too (Contemplation is better if you keep 2 enchants going), although even the 1/4 second spells are easily interrupted when you're dazed and have people attacking you.

Draw Conditions is better for relieving pressure, but all that removal gets expensive, especially when they are so easy to re-apply.

^^ with Melandru's and Disciples you can usually ride out daze. Esp if you have a %20 daze shield. your regen and armour should be enough if you keep drawing off your team and patient healing... umm, just watch diversion spam.

I agree with this for the most part, but in RA, the ratio of baddies to people who have some clue what's going on is so high as to make this pretty much a non-issue. There are also other mitigating factors here. "Your opponents are bad" is not a lone valid reason. It's just one of many.

On the other hand "Your opponents are bad" is an extremely valid reason to do things in many circumstances. Poker, for instance, is incredibly profitable if you do things on that (correctly evaluated) baseline.

I agree with Reverend. Its those 1 in 10 games that you get a high ranked team or at least a sync'd team. This is when you need to have your best skills on.

Truely, I would say RC is the best skill vs deep wound. You remove all conditions and then heal + divine. Using draw only removes the condition and adds divine, more than likely before (need to test this). If deep wound on yourself as a monk with this elite, Purge would have to be the skill of choice aside from perhaps plauge touch or sending.
