Cool Stuck grinding RA???

Hello, im an off and on guild wars player who recently just switched from a diff mmo (WoW) after taking a couple of months break. On return i see Anet has removed team arena and HB...which is ok but now how am i supposed to reach higher lvls of pvp w/o team arena for the gladiator title. Reaching the higher tiers such as HA or even getting any exp in plaing in HA is VERY hard as the players are usually always looking for r4+. Codex is dead as it is and wont help me get any father in gaining at least g3 or some sort of rank that will help my status. So is that it? Im stuck grinding RA with the hopes of finding a team that doesnt have a mending w/mo? Tell me theres another way! Or at least tell how you guys would get the titles with TA. Thanks all who reply...

Try to find a guild with similar interests as you. And be realistic, don't try to join a guild that is above your play level. If you do you'll probably be guildless forever.

If you either don't want to find a guild or just can't find one you like, then yea your stuck playing RA, have fun.

There are several active discussions on this, and everyone pretty much agrees. Heroes Ascent (and PvP in general) isn't about your rank, it's about networking and using your friend's list. Find other players of your skill level and values by starting groups, and taking notes of who is worth playing with. Soon, you'll have enough contacts not to need to PuG at all, and will get Guild connections.

From what Ariena said: Here is a quote from a guide on starting HA: "So you're a Rank 3 gladiator! Why won't those tools let me play HA!

Because HA is a whole new ball game.

The first thing to do when starting out in HA, is to realise that it has its own mechanics. It's not TA, it's certainly not RA and so your experience in those areas - whilst obviously a good thing in terms of learning the basics of PVP - means jack. It's time to set aside your pride, your rank 3 gladiator title, your protector of Tyria title. You need to get into the mindset to learn. You aren't going to achieve a shiny emote straight away. It requires some dedication." There are always groups forming that don't req a rank to join, unless you start getting into dead hour.

TA is what made people (kinda) respect the glad title, now that its gone (and since you will be a low rank), people will assume you got all your points in RA and wont be any more inclinded to invite you to their groups than a g0 h0. if HA is what you're after, you're better off just slowly racking up fame and trying your luck at r3+ guilds or even forming your own if you feel fit. your best chance is to just pm lowish ranked groups and explain that you don't have much fame but you are confident that you can play the role well and have vent/ts/mic and all that stuff. chances are you will find someone who is nice enough to let you join them, so try stand out to show him/her that you are a good player and then you can flist them, which leads to more groups, more people on your flist... and more fame.

Glad title remains highly respected. Name me a single title track more rare than the higher rank gladiator titles please Champion, thats about it.

codex, cuz no1 plays it therefore nobody has it.
gamer title cuz it can only be played at certain times.
hb title cuz its retired, theres only 2 r11 commanders and no1 will ever get it again.
not that any of these titles actually mean anything, tbh glad, ha champ titles are really a joke. theres just so many high ranked ppl who you expect to be good but nevertheless fail miserably. gw is way past the time where having a high pvp title actlly have some correlation with skill. its all about grind now

That's not what I meant; high Gladiators are respected, sure, but if you're a very low glad (like the OP) there's no real point in grinding RA to get it higher because there's no TA and if you want to get into HA/GvG networks noone really cares what Glad you are unless it's 7+

you are better off networking. grind out to the rank title you want and then move on to another grind elsewhere in the game. ground out my r1 glad... happy that i can now move onto grinding out LDoA until just before GW2 should be released.

unless you actually enjoy RA then just play.

if you want to get into good teams in HA... there are plenty of guides on this forum. Borats guide for PUGS has heaps of good stuff from plenty of HA people.
