only a token number are being banned, enough that Anet can pretend it isn't a problem

this is a real problem, i know pps bot, i can name names, and i could report them, but the risk is too great to report them, i wish it was r3s who were new to pvp, but as i'm sure most people who are reading this know, it's not, it's high and highish ranked guys

Interrupting 3/4 Casts on a Mesmer should be standard, nothing special.
Practice for about a week (maybe shorter/longer), and you should be able to.

Interrupting 3/4 Casts on a Ranger is a bit more challenging, but positioning and having a recurve bow really helps here. If you stand next to a Monk, you should be able to get WoH.

Practice is the key though.
Good luck

Unfortunately the inability to detect sarcasm is not a bannable offense on these forums.

Div wins the thread.

Interupting 3/4 skills should not be a problem if you have a decent connection, decent reflexes and at least some skill.... If you want to train this, just invite a friend and go scrimmage with 3/4 skills.

There are a couple of bot mesmers in HA, but most people know their names, so nobody cares.

With my satellite internet (1,500~ ping) I have no hopes of ever becoming a sure interrupter . Although it can be fun random-firing interrupts at casters xD

Here is an example of 0.5sec rupts :/

I had a real hard time pulling the interrupts with the frequent FPS drops from Fraps.

(PS; Check the interface for an idea.)

Here is a tip on how to get better at pixelating (determining whether the skill should be interrupted or not distinguishing 3/4 and 1/4).

Run migraine mesmer, but do not spam your interrupts, you will get more into the feel of letting patient spirits go by, and hitting the 3/4.

I do this sometimes when my mind has gone off track and I need to lay off reflexing the patient spirits.

Whereas reaction time is important for reflex interrupt, if you chain 2 skills/interrupts there is an aftercast delay of 0.75 sec to consider, that will delay your interrupt and might make you fail a 0.75-1s skill.
That will be likely to happen in practice when people fake their skills activation or after you successfully rupt their previous skill since they don't suffer from aftercast delay.
You failed or successed an interrupt ? Don't necessarly chain with another one, you opponnent got an opportunity window of at least 0.75s+your own skill activation time.

Predicting :
- will a player use a specific skill on recharge ?
long recharge+slow activation -> reflex
short recharge+fast activation -> count and prerupt for fun or do nothing since it will recharge fast...
- is a player chaining skills ?
prerupt : use your skill so your rupt happens before his next skill has been activated for more than .25s (and you get called bot ^^)
