Default How to Prism?

Hello to everybody. With my guild mates, we started to do bbsway regularly. My role is prism. I did it some time ago, in low ranked teams, then quit to do other stuff (mostly DwG ritual). Now I restart to prism. My prism mate is new to the role, so we are two low experienced person at that role. What I would like to ask to the community is some hints on how to correctly work in couple. For example in the tactical maps, how to move, how to split, what we have to care and what is important.

I hope you can help me.
Thank you in advance.

In 8v8 maps just keep weapons up and vs spike use ether prism. In UW other prism can go upstairs and other down cos u dont need to channel tank.

It's good that you start with prism healers, because they are the easiest backline bars to play (With the exception of paragon healers).

Since both bars are identical, it makes it even the more easy to figure out tactics. Pretty much at all times at any given map, you'dd want to have atleast 1 prism healer following their damage.

But to be honest, where to be and what to do is something your caller should call, but I'm assuming you're part of the new batch HA'ers who don't use vent (Like [tO] and many other swayers), so the general rule of the thumb is: Always follow their damage.

You're running bbsway, though, so don't worry. The build literally plays itself, and you should have no problem learning the ropes.

Basically this. Just heal and use Spirit Transfer for catching spikes. Weapon yourself/other prism when under pressure. If you're against edenial, keep holding PwK and drop it when it's recharged.

This debate has come up a few times before, but if you're going to sway with a guild use the more efficient OoS rit backline.

Prism = 0.56 energy / second
OoS (11 channeling) = 0.67 energy / second

Primary rit has 10-15% more healing from spirit light, mend body and PwK. Primary rit has 11 second weapon spells over 7 second second weapon spells. Primary rit has ghost forge insignias, reducing base damage by 23% under the effect of a weapon spell.

All you get with prism is a huge energy battery for spamming heals and weapons for a few minutes and the off chance that prism will save you from a spike. Thats good for pugs but if matches last more than a minute the primary rit is better in every way. Also better in HoH when weapon of shadow is the only skill you have that can protect the ghost from physical damage.

In all fairness if you can watch the field and give appropriate weapon spell when needed your team is going to be a lot more difficult to take down than if you just red bar it. Prism works not just as energy management, but also as an "oh shit" skill (sort of like stances on mo/w). Despite its versatility for both, it ends up being much less effective, as you cannot use it for maximum energy gain and for maximum self protection at the same time. The more you can watch the field the less use you get out of prism and the better some other backline bar (whether Rit or Monk) becomes more beneficial.

Indeed, a part from DwG monk I used to play as infuser and as frontline sometimes. So My problem is not to redbar properly. What I figured out is that many times me and my mate go to cover the same spike toghether, and it is a waste of energy. So I was wondering whether there was some general rule or if this is exactly what prism are meant to do.

The other more question was: in unholy temple and forgotten shrine, how do we split correctly? For example: in forgotte shrine one has to stay with the ghost, or is the ritual that have to stay with it?

Do you all agree that OoS ritual is better than prism? (consider I can play more complicate builds)

OoS rits are undoubtingly better than prisms. However, with the recent shitfest of new BBways with 5 defensive characters (Trapper, Rit spammer,PnH and dual prism) it really doesn't matter anymore because you got so much defence.

But as someone said, the numbers speak for themselves. OoS gives more energy return (And that's without 40/40. Assuming you use a 40/40 set, you'll actually gain will be like what 20/30% higher than normal?), you have more healing power and most importantly, your weaponspells almost last twice as long.

As for Unholy Temples and Forgotten Shrines: you have a tactics caller for a reason.

It all depends what you're facing or what your caller wants to do. (Prisms follow dmg, go with ghost, ...)

But concidering 90% of today's callers (swayers) aren't really callers, but rather simply part leaders, everyone just does his own thing.

Simply do what you think will get you the victory, as there simply is no point in 1 person (you) following a certain tactic when everyone else is running around like brainless chickens.

It always happens to our guild

I'll open a new thread to not go out of topic.
