Tried it a few times, but didn't like it much. I'm not very much into PvP anyway.

Found the effort to figure out the build-of-the-day to be more annoying than the effort it takes to play.

Would rather they just give you a build and you put your team together based off what the builds are.

I don't really find Codex fun unless you have people that you know to play with.

Because of this, I don't play anymore or very infrequently when I really rage in RA.

Why was my post deleted? I simply stated the fact that the arena is all but dead. This poll is worthless...I could tell you the results before it was made. Codex has no farmable rewards in a game of mostly farmers left playing.

And to answer the question, I played it the first few days then quit. I knew it wouldn't succeed due to poor implementation, posted so on these forums, and I was correct.

I Came
I Saw (how bad it is)
I Left

Good job Anet at removing 2 formats and replacing it with one that's equally terrible.

WTB TA and HB!

Posts that were off-topic (meaning not mentioning whether you play Codex) were deleted.

I played the first days, saw how horrible it was, somehow forced myself to keep playing till I had the title and then quitted forever.

Me and some guildies are now discussing to return for a few days, just to get some easy points now even the half decent players left, but somehow we just can't find the motivation.

I still regret it that such a promosing concept has turned into the worst arena ever.

They did it all wrong.

Core/Proph only skills, with 1 organized CA and 1 random CA.

I played codex alot for a while.

I just don't really have the time for it anymore.

My thoughts on this format is that it is actually a pretty good format.

This format focuses on the players skill level rather than the skills on the players bar... It surprises me that nobody sees this, nobody knows what the point of sealed deck is for except me? I mean cmon guys.

Heres a quote to keep in mind when thinking of sealed deck...
Quote:
Good players can play bad builds effectively while bad players cant play good builds effectively, hence how this format is more focused on skill level.

My last post was deleted because I said something positive about codex, I guess this is supposed to be a biased thread.

The 6 hour rotation made the arena better since you do not have to wait a whole day when you do not like the meta.

I think its a pretty good format and I've done successfully in many pugs with not extremely thought out builds. The only problem is there aren't enough teams so you often end up with long waits against the same opponents. If more people played I think it would be a fun format.

That is the main problem.

you didnt do much reading then, i suppose.

mind that there isnt much skill involved once you see three or four copies of defensive/offensive skills in one team tho. the prime examples are definately AoS and blinds when the cond removal is bad or inexistant and hex overloads when the same applies to hex removal and/ or disruption.

Sadly I haven't tried it yet. Pugging is a no go and f-list or guild roster ... well you know the story.

This isn't sealed deck, its codex.

Allow me to elaborate. If a skill that is powerful is rolled, then in sealed deck it would be there once (as it was rolled once, not four separate times), in codex it will be there 4 times. This is the difference between sealed deck and codex. This is why sealed deck is a decent format and codex is a terrible format.

No, everytime I decide to give CA another chance, I realise why I wasn't playing it in the first place. It sucks.

If TA was facepalm at times, CA is much much worse.

played it almost nightly for the 1st 2 or 3 weeks for title stuff but then stopped cuz eden stopped playing . The lack of teams is annoying, title is worthless and usually none of my friends want to play it... i dont rly either.

Overall everything popular in guild wars has some awesome reward (these FOW and UW speedclears are popular b/c ecto and cool weps are exciting and such; GvG rank trim with ladder and tournaments gives you status points cuz idk thats how it works, HA chest/bambi or is incredibly simple/fun... RA

Codex is kinda complex and most likely your build may not be the most optimal build right off the bat unless u rly understand like every skill in the game, so you will have to rebuild your teambuild... So just throw simplicity out the window.

Moral of post: Give Codex a reward... if anything a unique reward that actually has some merit or value in it; its what the majority want so do it.

edit: i now play CA once in a blue moon
