So I was doing AB with 3 friends last night, I was monk and they were ranger/war. No one felt like nuking so we decided to get a pug as all our friendlists/guild attempts failed. The end result? Three eles in a ROW with these crap bars. Whats more they can't even understand WHY the bar is bad and claim "I've run it for x amount of time, its always worked for me." or my personal favourite "I ABd to r6 luxon, I think I know what I'm doing" <---- he promptly shutup after I flashed him my r12 and when I told him he only had about 1/8 of the title done he laughed at me and said he was half way... 6/12 is 1/2 way guys .... *facepalm

Anyway here were the bars, in this order. (rank dude was the first one)

Something is very, very, very wrong when people run bars like this, AND actually think that they are GOOD. Probably because nobody has told them their bars are bad so when I do they think I'm just being an ass. *sigh you just cant win

I'm just wondering - has there been some kind of surge in people (trying) to play mezzes and rits in AB? Because I know every match there's been some kind of mez tailing me - including one who kept spamming Empathy and, best of all, Recurring Insecurity - on me. The monk.

The astonishing thing is, Recurring Insecurity only gave me -1 health regen, so I'm really not sure how the heck that person specced...

Also, the eles: at least the second looks like he could, uh, cause NPCs some worry.

Lol what's wrong with eles running completely suckish secondaries. You can pretty much take every secondary you want in AB because eles have their own speed boosts. Better run hex remove, or some block thing, or any other form of party support. Hell your monk will thank you for drawing cripple when he has 2 PS sins on him :P.

I hurd 'Fall Back!' eles were gud.

An actual on topic post, I think the reason kurz are so bad is that they get over confident, I just won a game of asslands which we were sure to lose. Score was 450-350 (kurz-lux) with 4 flags to kurz 3 flags to luxons, we were trash talking this kurzick and he came out with the response "at least we won" to which we replied its not over till its over. In a spectacular turn around we capped all 7 points and stopped them at 474 and held them for a minute and ended up winning.

One of the best games I've had in a long time, all because the kurz thought they had it in the bag and stopped playing. By the time they realise they can still lose, its too late and they can't recover. I realise that luxons do this as well, but in my experience it doesn't happen nearly as often. I also think the fact that it is always on a kurzick map kind of dulls them down, they don't fight nearly as hard because many believe its a virtually guaranteed win and it really shows when the maps been on kurz land forever.

as of right now, luxons are better at playing on grenz and ancestral than saltspray/etnaran keys/whateverdeepluxonisiforgotitsname. the level of skill is so lopsided that it constantly amazes me.

just today, i beat a melshot ranger with my cripshot, and he was running lightning reflexes AND troll unguent. i haven't played in two weeks, and despite of my rust, i STILL beat him. it was kinda pathetic.

Must have been your new computer doing the work for you.

Yesterday night, at Ancestral (I'm Luxon now btw), the Kurzicks managed a close victory. Some dude on my team brought up the fact that it might have something to do with the map. Kurzicks' response:

"As opposed to Grenz, where you have the advantage?"

Which leads me to wonder: it's been so long, how many Kurzicks are actually aware of the existence of Kaanai Canyon?

LOL that is actually pretty damn funny. And an interesting point, a lot of new ABers will have little (SS/Keys) to no (canyon) experience of those other maps. TBH I don't miss canyons that much, long waits and crappy gameplay, but keys I love nothing like scoring 20 or so wins in a row it gets to the point where u get sick of winning and want to lose.

I miss it.

Frankly, I think the fact that it's permanently on Kurz-advantage these days means a lot of players just go in and say oh, it's our side, no problem, that's a guaranteed win, right?

Wrong. ><

Canyon, it's not realy a thing i miss. If the map hits keys, i consider it having long loading times (not sure how long though). I play extra then to get my favorate map back (Grenz).

Shrouded in ancient myth, the legend of Kaanai canyon has been forgotten by all but those Kurzicks who still bear the scars of its purgatorial fire.

My nameless Verses.

You wanna go PUG?
After it you will be in a pure dust!
AB, FA, JQ and even a TV
What do they mean to us?
- Pure pain which cozed by SUX!
DOnt split, dont mob cap and cap
O newb! Will you care bout that crap?
Dont tank,run and split
But your skillbar can only sprint!
Shrines,points,kegs
eh?! YOu care only about your own eggz!
Newbs dont belong to Luxons or Kurziks!
They are everywhere like an air.
Got tired of four hundred against one?
Still wanna pwn someone?
Go to Guru,wiki,train and search!
Dont be a ruining porch!

Kurziks Luxons...
We blame each other...
You newb , you suk,
You won coz battle map suked.
We forgot the best thing ever.
Its simply a game!
Lets unite and put some aim.

Those maps are a thing of the past really, it's been ages since I played them. 2 weeks ago the map was on saltspray, but that was about it at the times that I was awake. Now we're stuck with the hard maps, which we still win on a regular basis.

Can remember us spawn killing kurzicks in their base yesterday when the match was only halfway, it must be a b!tch to be kurzick these days.

I remember Kaanai Canyon. It's been quite a while since I've seen it, though. What scars and purgatorial fire do you speak of, Lux? There was none of that in Kaanai Canyon... only lots of Luxons that helped me quench my Hammer's thirst to break bones and hand out KD's!

One of the only solutions I see to this problem, is just have the maps on a rotation. I understand that its meant to be based on wins and losses but I mean come on, if a guild or alliance has the power to influence the AB maps, they can easily get enough faction to own their own town in friendly territory instead of pushing the border all the time

Would also like to see some new maps, like actually fighting and capturing the individual towns to move the border but I guess this is jsut wishful thinking at this point.

Kaanai = we wait 20 minutes then chase the kurzicks around in a circle.

This really is about the only solution now. Moving based on wins and losses was a neat idea, until reality stepped in and said that the maps aren't going to move much at all.

Weird because Kurzick used to be the thing back in the day, my guild was Luxon and we would get our butts kicked regularly and I saw some popular and big guilds on the Kurzick side.

Then I think people started moving to the Luxons because if they won, they would get significantly more faction points for their title or whatever since a lot of time was spent on the Luxon side.

Now I'm in a guild that's Kurzick (because my friend maxed his Luxon title and wanted to do Kurzick) and it seems that there are a lot of Luxons and everynight that I AB, we're always at Grenz or Ancestral. Once we almost lost because the Luxons owned all the control points...in Ancestral. My pug team is spread out and all my monk can do is /sigh.

Maybe it's me, maybe it's my team, maybe it's the time of day, but we need some talent back on the Kurzick side, it makes me sad.

^Strange you mention that. When Factions was released those who were playing for luxons/kurzicks are doing primarily so to gather materials for their armor. So you tend to see some balance discrepancy between them (e.g. more necs playing as luxons; more monks playing as kurzick).

10-win streak on Ancestral means something is TERRIBLY WRONG

Kurzicks got made at me last night for running barbed trap on a burning arrow ranger. They kept calling me useless as I kept slowing them down on the bridge of Ancestral making them take about 5 times longer to cap all three shrines, only to stay alive and recapture them once they left.

If that doesn't show you the stupidity of some players then idk what will. I played about 11 games last night and only lost 1 (I'm Luxon if you didn't figure it out).
