Default Help with my Mesmer build for AB

I want to start trying to use Arcane Languor. I for one just love bringing this skill with me on AB battle, but I feel I am lacking something. Someone shed some light on this build for me, perhaps I am missing something. It takes a bit to be effective, and I think I could perhaps change a few skills to really put pressure on the monk/ele/mesmer I would be causing massive exhaustion to. My ranks would be 16 domination and 11 fast casting. Do you think that it's worth it first of all compared to skills like e-surge/VOR or do you think there is a good way of using it, just I need a better skill line?

Arcane Languor
Chaos Storm
Shame
Shatter Enchantment
Unnatural Signet
Wastrel's Demise
Wastrel's Worry
Leech Signet

1) dont take superior runes - hp is much more valuable than 2 extra skill points
2) dont run arcane langour (low to no utility) - you want either an elite rupt or e surge/some illusion elite like crip anguish, fevered dreams
3) always take empathy (npcs wand, 3/4 of ab players suicide on it, no reason not having it with you) and cry of frustr (just too good not to have vs npcs and in general)

1.) Okay no superior runes

2.) I understand that it might not be common to run with langour, but I was wondering if it is possible. I have been having success with it the last couple of days, but it just takes awhile to get that bang for your buck as to say. I have tried the e-surge build and it is fastly effective mixed with wreck, but I want to think outside the box.

3.) I usually do run with empathy, I guess what I am trying to accomplish is. Making it so my opponents are exhausted or close to it the entire AB so they cannot build energy up. I guess it's just mostly wishful thinking....

I guess my thinking is, Guildwars falls in love with everyone having the same build...what if someone goes outside of that, won't it become a better overall experience instead of the same old same old?

Langour is a lot of fun. I'd put your runes in FC. 16 can be crazy..just make sure you have self heals and know when to back off.

Shame isn't bad, but it's not effective if Langour is working properly.

aneurysm works great with it because it counts the exhaustion as having 0 energy. Further, the player doesn't receive the energy it would get because it's exhausted, so, it's pretty cool really.

I agree, bring empathy.

You may want to put points into inspiration for ether feast and drain enchant for self heals. or...go secondary for heals/defense.

Power return isn't a bad interrupt for the cost, esp if they have arcane languor

If you use anything like VoR, Backfire, Languor, etc.. then you don't want to use any interrupts on the target you're trying to get to cast under them. You want the caster to incur damage, exhaustion, and so on, so it's counter-productive to Shame or CoF anyone under Backfire/VoR/Languor. Use Wastrel's Worry to pressure your target caster as well, so either they take the damage, or... they take even MORE damage and/or exhaustion.

Otherwise, bring active interrupts that can stop skills instead of just spells. This increases versatility vs anyone because everybody uses skills. Attacks are skills, Signets are skills, everything with a cast time is a skill, and CoF/Psychic Distraction/Psychic Instability can stop them. Apply Poison is a skill, and can be stopped by said skills as well. Versatility is key in PvP!

Exhaustion applies at the beginning of activating a spell, not the end.

What about signet of Illusions? Couldn't that be useful perhaps mixed in with some Necro skills?

sig of illusions used to be fun with water skills when fc still applied to all spells not just the mesmer class. having ppl snared for over a min was hilarious.

Well then I guess that hex is an exception, huh. But for those hexes that do not share this behavior, my above post applies.
