I miss AB pre-faction update . In my opinion, the faction update was one of the worst updates we've seen.

You consider bringing herds of retards to a place only to spend hours doing repetitive tasks in a game mode with the shittiest balance ever, while simultanously helping to kill off one of the decent formats a wonder? God this community.

Wait, what? Jeeze man, don't need to rage out at me. I was just stating that at one point in GW's career that JQ was a ghosttown. With a simple update AB can be active again....

1. all they need to do to make JQ more balanced is more spaced-out shrine members and kite faster.

2. AB can only be fixed by being more fun. Allow PvE skills? I don't know what others find fun, but a big reward at the end is always nice. AB battles last quite a long time compared to JQ/FA IIRC.

3.Make it completely random teams like JQ/FA.

make it completely random and i most definitely will not set foot to it. ever again.
the last thing we need is a big-scale ra replica.

RA is 4v4 kill to the death.

AB is 12v12 "king of the hills"

Just if it was randomised, that doesn't share much resemblance to RA. It WOULD make entering a game faster, which would make me want to go there more often.

Would also make it suck beyond any recognition.

How about a compromise:

You can form any team size lesser than 13 people?

Just triple the faction reward and have the maps reset to saltspray at regular intervals, problem solved.

If the purpose is to get more players to AB higherminion has a valid point. Make pvp more like pve, give shiny rewards, reward time spent, make skill count for little and put more emphasis on random factors. (and randomise teams so that bad players will win relatively more as per the 2010 Costume Brawl update rationale.)

AB would get a new clientele while the small group of regulars would probably quit. Good or bad? You decide.

TA, small group of elite players. Arena removed, RA made more popular for buttonmashers. CB, randomised last year. Deterred a small group of enthusiasts and a slightly bigger group of syncers and I assume made more popular for the masses. GvG, been slowly eroded from bottom for 5 years where a small group of elite(or elitist if you prefer) players remain. Latest Anet efforts involve buffing the biggest pve class to cater to the masses. The trend is obvious, it's only natural that AB is next. (And yeah it would of course "suck beyond any recognition".)

What's fun though is costume brawl was still probably the most popular event in game and yet some formats they added ( Codex *cough*) are completly worse than it ....

I'm still believing that merging RA , CA ( TA and HB too in fact...) into costume brawl arena with 2 modes would be the best option:
- normal random mode like it is today
- gladiator points : 1 earned at each fight, additional 1 each 5....( no problem since teams change every fight )
- team mode tournaments such as GvG ones.... Capping and Killing mattering , plus fixed bars... what's better for a fair tournament....

Everyone would be happy that way , and it's not really hard to implement....

Theres no other organised casual pvp then AB, would u really like to see that last option ruined? I dont want to pick between total random shit and strenuous pvp such as gvg or HA, I like to have something inbetween.

Not even talking builds: random pvp means solo based, one dimensional shitter builds that are of an abundance in FA and RA already, zzzz.

But AB has always been random shit. You can't call a team made of: a random sin, a random ranger, a random monk, and a random shit organized, right? Now given that you have an organized 4-person team? What do you call a group of 12 people with 4 organized and 8 random shit? Random shit!

Pre-"nerf" CB was my favourite pvp format. Organised CB where you could play with 4 other friends would be nothing short of amazing. Tho would probably get stale after a while with few builds and only 3(or is it 4 now?) maps.

No, I'm with you. My personal opinion is just like the randomization of CB that it would completely ruin the fun in the format(for me). AB is now the only working and legit 4-person arena for "pvpers". An optimal solution would of course be to keep the "AB All Starz" and attract more players(pve?) at the same time. But I'm not holding my breath for Anet to save the day. Like I said look at how they "saved" TA and CB.

Personally I think they should up the faction reward and randomize the maps. That would make it bearable to play again.
This right here is what needs to happen. ANet should have nerfed the FFF a long time ago by only giving rep points the first time you VQ an area per character. Why pvp when you can repetitively vanquish an area like a monkey.

It's nothing personal, rather a logical argument in fact. Changing a shitty format (JQ/FA) by doing nothing but adding extremely large rewards for doing nothing well at all was a good thing? No, most certainly not. It took away all the players from the clearly superior format by design and allocated them to two other terrible formats with no balance and the worst AI/general design in the entire game.

depends so much, just imagine that this random team actually tries not to be bad, then it has way more strategical depth then, say, RA (zzz dolyak monks zzzz).

AB is the closest thing remaining to TA. The format mechanics need to be left alone. Increased rewards (especially for capping shrines) and map resets would be good.

I would rather have at least three others who know what is going on than none at all.

i run doliaks in AB too. fatty normally takes charge, so movement speed isnt a problem. charge rules AB anyway.
