Default AmityWay (lol)



Basically the idea is to shut down the enemy team so that you can kill the monks, then you can wipe the team out 1 by 1. I'm thinking FS and need some sort of spike with no AoE/splash dmg. Obviously I know that this build looks pretty dumb but just trying to figure out how to set it up to see if its even a little realistic with a good team and a lot of coordination. So, suggestions? BTW, I'm thinking GvG here.

It won't work.

This kind of theorycrafting has happened with blackout chains on backlines since day 1. Obviously, this is the other way around, but ultimately, the cost of basically dedicating characters to shutdown compromises the rest of your offense too much.

Also, keep in mind how difficult it is to crack your standard 2 monk/rit runner backline these days.

theorycraft in theory does not work at all, because any build must have it counters, unless the builds verse are the same build.

Will not work in GvG because: You will likely not have enough damage/pressure thus they may simply ignore your team and push into your footmen/archer to easily get rid of the amity or even rush your lord pit while your team helplessly trails behind; the build would either result in a quick wipe or a 28 min game but would eventually lead to inevitable loss (excluding instant resigning PvE Guilds/ Ladder farmers).

Pretty much the only place you should use Amity now is in codex but it being an optimal skill occurs rarely.

You are aware they can still cast spells? Meaning you're fair game to most teams damage and HEX REMOVAL.This is assuming you can even pull off an amity chain.

I had (lol) in the name meaning that I know it's completely retarded, I was more asking for ways to make it work in theory. Single spike damage is generally higher than AoE and you could try to put some other sort of spell shutdowns. You would use amity as you shut down both monks simultaneously with KD/ something else (KD or some sort of rupt). I'm completely aware that this is pointless because there are easier better teams but I'm just trying to find a way to make this playable for lols even if its bad. Maybe in HA but I see it working there even less. Its fo teh lols peepulz!

you just simply have to find another 7 lol players, all builds have its counter, as I mentioned, nothing will work in theory with the current situation.

actually he had a good idea but expel hexes would screw everyone over even with 8 sec recharge on even just one mesmer on it will screw this build over.

Much truth here, but theory-crafting and theory-tearing down go hand in hand. I don't think you'd have to ''dedicate' a position (or 3) to this elite. The key is to find where the meta builds fail, or at least have minimal advantage.

There seems to be 2 main meta's trip melee and split.
Vs the trip melee, if you can cover amity, or disrupt the 2 hex removals, then you could have some success. But a smart team would just split off the melees to bust your pit up. NPC's will negate the effects and your left with a 45 timer on a useless elite. Either that or just commit the melees to running flags. Split will work the same way.

Ultimately, you're going to have a hard time squeezing enough damage thru to defeat a trip melee. You'd have to build around ele's I would think where you could still get off some spike paired up with cracked armor.

Maybe
Invoke ele with amity
MOI with amity
ESurge with amity

Either way, it's a pretty easy build to counter.

Seriously, we used 2-3 copies of Amity in TA way back in the day, and it worked. It just doesn't work now, in any format. It is a combination of powercreep and people figuring out how to play the game.

Amity just doesn't work. You missed the time it could be used.
