Pros:
KDs and weakness can become effective,
Excellent snare capability (Grasping),
Decent Damage (if landing every projectile).

Cons:
Projectile-based (potential for missing your target),
Conditional kd's (and even elite, if using YAA!; condition-removals pwn you),
Not the most optimal dps (imho).

Over-all:
Decent at best, but definitely not a meta build.

I don't really see how they're at all related unless you're running a bad bar.

Well would you look at that. On obs right now: Our Little Green Friend [yoda] vs. Super Kaon Action Team [ban]. [ban] #7 is the E/W Earth Ele with YAA.

Obs and see how effective the build is I suppose.

ok, i'll play warrior/dervish/assassin and you run about so i can get auto crits on you please

that aside, teh earth ele only works when there's weakness, and any decent monk that draws conditions will void out the ele. Much like playing dev hammer with yeti's smash and you never get teh qknock because the monk draws off the conditions QQ

a) ur first point makes it seem that kiting is bad?? Dont think many people would see it that way, admittedly u might take a couple extra crit hits, but u also take a substantially less amount of attacks overall, making it beneficial. Obviously dervishes with cripple spam reduced the effectiveness of this somewhat though :/ I can see in a way at what ur getting at, sort of moving on the spot to dodge a projectile would result in extra crits i guess, but then if i was being trained by a melee, kiting that would probably be more of a priority than dodging a projectile. incidentally u would likely dodge some of the projectiles as a result of kiting the melee in the first place i'd imagine.

b) You over estimate the ability of monks to clean, as do a lot of other players. Sadly if a team runs weakness spam, its unlikely the heal monk will be able to just click draw on recharge in order to counter it. Draw is needed for other things too, so even a "good" monk could never counter weakness (or blind/sth else) entirely. Monks are not infinite energy cleaning machines, and cleaning already comes 2nd behind protting and healing damage. Earth Eles could still put out fairly substantial levels of weakness. Imo anyway.

c) when im a prot, and i get kd'd by dev hammer or sth else, VERY rarely do i get drawed fast enough to negate the effects of yeti smash, again people over estimate the human abilities of monks. If a heal monk is able to solely focus on drawing someone, just to prevent a kd, this means he obviously did not have to draw a blind/weakness, or heal anyone simultaneously, which to me suggests the rest of ur team is doing absolutely nothing, and certainly not actively trying to kill somebody else as a result of the prot being kd'd which would clearly divert the heals attention. Arguing that yeti smash is bad cos it requires a condition, is similar in many ways to saying diversion is bad because it can be rupted??? Most things have a counter, its just a question of how reliably can that counter be implemented. Yeti smash is generally far superior to hammer bash, particularly in triple melee meta, as for the 99/100 times where it does trigger, u get a perfect q knock. Even the best warriors with the biggest e-peens in game are probably looking at a 40-50%+ miss rate for Q knocks when using hammer bash. Its just too unreliable when compared to the easy mode option that is yeti smash....

yeti smash still has a flaw though, moving targets with conditions dont get kded when hit...so if you are fast enough with them nikes start moving asap in that split of a second.
